I wonder wether you can change your flag in warzone because sometimes we don't like to serve under the flag that is determined by GPS.
For me, I am a Palestinian who lives in Jerusalem .. but as many of you know east Jerusalem is occupied .. and its hard to do anything about it in the mean time ... so in the game the flag is Israeli flag which i am not proud of , and i don't want to serve under ....
So is there a way to change it? to Palestinian... and if there isn't can you please introduce that feature.

The location is actually deteriorated by your device’s IP address. Two ways to change flag: playing from a different country or by using a proxy. It’s not illegal to show flag.

In these cases, if the player really wants a flag change for a political/personal reason, It's probably good practice for Fizzer to manually change it if it's desired.

Actually, there might be legal issues with the flags. GDPR may in fact be being violated by showing a players nation against their will.

From a quick analysis of the General Data Protection Regulation act which was brought into the European Union in the 25th March 2018. This what I've found:

*"If you offer your goods or services to any EU residents, then you must comply with GDPR."

"1.Processing of personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership....... shall be prohibited"

* "‘consent’ of the data subject means any freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of the data subject’s wishes by which he or she, by a statement or by a clear affirmative action, signifies agreement to the processing of personal data relating to him or her;"

*There is a Right of Rectification > "The data subject shall have the right to obtain from the controller without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning him or her. Taking into account the purposes of the processing, the data subject shall have the right to have incomplete personal data completed, including by means of providing a supplementary statement."

Potentially, WarZone may be in violation of processing ethnic origin of a player. WarZone may be in violation of not acquiring correct consent in terms of "freely given". WarZone may be in violation of having no way of allowing a Data subject to rectify such data...

But does anyone really care? Probably not.

But one politically correct moron can get hurt and make a report of WarZone and than shit could potentially hit the fan.

In the case of TheNoob it's quite easy since neither Fizzer nor him reside in the EU.

Looking over Warzones privacy policy https://www.warzone.com/PrivacyPolicy it is stated there: "Warzone will display the country you play from on your publicly-visible profile.". Apparently Fizzer got some legal counceling or put some thought into his privacy policy. However with the GDPR stuff always gets pretty complicated and I'm unsure what some of the abstract wordings there mean in practice. Displaying the country flag is data usage but the GDPR is also concerned with data gathering. Here Warzone can gather the IP data if there is a "legitimate interest" in doing so (whatever that means). Making the user having to accept the data gathering in order to use Warzone isn't going to work since there is a prohibition of coupling.

But then again I'm no lawyer but just some dude who has to get some small GDPR training once per year.

Your flag is based on your location, not on your ethnicity.

Flags do not show race or ethnicity. They would not violate anything you posted.

However, I do sympathize with the Isreal issue mentioned above. Suppose you live in Crimea (Ukraine territory invaded by Russia). Would your flag switch to Russia?
