What kind of change(s) would you make to the game?

Sell it. I've only got a day, gotta make the most money.

I would allow people to create own APIs for personal usage. After I wrote about my own project (which BTW made fizzer mad) I was messaged by MANY people who are apparently doing custom projects on warzone.

Changes I would make, if I had a few hours. :)

1. Revamp chat. I'd like it to open with all chat in one window, pointing at the newest chat. With buttons to filter just "public" messages or messages to and from a particular player. I'd also allow people to send messages to themselves, so they could keep a notebook of things going on in the game (important for multi-day games). I'd also allow export of the entire chat stream to Notepad or such. Right now, it's a pain to open up chat for each player in the game to review what has been said.

2. Change booting/surrendering within a team games so the territories of the leaving team member are distributed to remaining team members.

3. Add an option to allow formal alliances (i.e. dynamic teams) within a non-team game that would allow all the benefits of a team game. Except for the boot/surrender item above, which could be misused with alts. However, if an AI takes over for a booted or surrendered allied player, it would honor the team alliance for at least one turn and not attack immediately. This would also mean there would need to be a "no teams" option -- an official version of the current "FFA with private messaging turned off" that currently gets used.

4. Improved AI options.

5. On "Watch" option for a turn, be allowed to limit it to self only, not teammates.

Sort all the reported bugs by priority, and fix as many of them as possible.

I would add a hotkey to make a minimum attack, that sends only the minimum amount of armies needed to capture a territory depending on the armies currently defending it e.g. 3 attackers for the standard 2 neutrals (in WR the amount to capture for sure).

Also i would sort out the STRG hotkey collision between deploys and teamchat linking.

Oh and a Hotkey for tapping would also be nice =)

What, I'm Fizzer for just a day! The real one can do that stuff!

I'd probably make the Multi-Day Ladder and the Clan League an official part of WZ and look into ways to improve what clans can do on WZ. Also, more stats, because stats are nice.
