Jaysus, can the religious discussions please just stop? Nobody is going to convince anyone of anything. Look at the previous thread, 4 pages in like a day. I know I am prone to going off topic on the forums repeatedly, but I do enjoy the fact that most forum discussions are at least somewhat game-related.

So, reading a book makes a person devout?
"-In case you don't know, definition of devout: 'Having or showing deep religious feeling or commitment'. The people who have read the bible cover to cover, memorize lines, etc."
I've read thousands of books, and trust me, reading a book doesn't make you devout.

myhandisonfire, I speak to you: *For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.* (Matthew 18:20) Before I said these words, as recorded by my disciple Matthew, a wise man from the state of Lu spoke of a similar concept: human-heartedness, whose symbol 仁 is also *two* and *people*.
If the Father spoke to you directly, you would be a prophet to fulfill what I, the Son, have left unfulfilled. *For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.* (Amos 3:7) A new holy book would be written to form a trilogy: Old Testament (God's covenant with Israel), New Testament (Christ the Savior), Newest Testament (myhandisonfire the Prophet).

The account named Jesus does not blesphemy Jesus.
Perrin, you clearly misunderstood the command in Deutoromy. God is not condemning you if you make an image in the form of anything in the heavens above, the earth below, or the waters beneath. He condemns you if you make an image and corupt yourself with image.
The account Jesus did not corupt himself, nor corupt God, for everything he posted so far is correct and accurate(based on the bible), exactly as Jesus himself would have said. If the account Jesus said, "murder and you will live", then that blesphemies the name of the Lord, for he has lied using the name of Jesus.
@Myhandisonfire, the Catholic church had did many wrongs (much in which they had admitted and apologized, many others are forgotten) because they are an organization formed by people. People according to God, are all sinners, thus it's only natural that they will sin. Christians are no different. You should judge Religion not based on its believers, but the religion's teachings. It's true God did not directly contact you to give you any messages, but clearly you are not willing to listen. If God knows all, then he won't give you the message, because he knows you are not willing to listen to it.

As a christian, I feel compelled to explain my beliefs:
The main reason why so many Americans hate Christians(especially the hardcore) is because the American culture is opposite of Christians, for sex and money. As for polygamy, I don't know how they consider themselves Christians, going against christian rules and committing adultery. And the catholics scamming people, that is why protestant was created, and most churches don't do that anymore.
As far as the bible, the practic only record of all Jewish time, I would like to know how/why more than 30 generations lied in a book. And if you say it was only one person, the Romans knew about Christianity, and there were plenty of witnesses, and it spread pretty rapidly after Jesus's death (and no,'Jesus' comment wasn't blaspheming, he wasn't actauly saying he was Jesus).
If you don't believe in Christianity, there are some interesting stories about Christian people. If you think all those people are crazy, then you shouldn't be more likely to believe bigfoot or aliens exist. If you don't believe in anything that has a 50/50 chance of being real you'r e a skeptic. As for the hell explanation,if you don't ask for forgiveness for your sins, the punishment for sin is death, so unless you are forgiven you go to hell (believe me, I don't think its very fair either).

Where does the "50/50" come from? Please, *please* tell me you don't go for the "it's either true (god exists) or false (god doesn't exist), so that's a 50/50 chance". Just go buy two lottery tickets. The first one can either win or not, so that's a 50/50, right? The second one can also win or not, so that's another 50/50. Since 50%+50%=100%, that means you're sure to win the jackpot. (There's another error in there and while it's pretty bad, it pales in comparison to "two possibilities, so it must be 50/50".)
Also, you seem to imply "sceptic" somehow equals "bad". That's seems very strange, especially seeing how you do it in the sentence after the one where you mention Bigfoot...
|> As for the hell explanation,if you don't ask for forgiveness for your sins, the punishment for sin is death, so unless you are forgiven you go to hell
Since the question of whether or not someone goes to hell only pops up after someone's dead, I think it's slightly pointless to be still handing out death penalties at that oint.
