2v2, my teammate's getting beaten so I gift him a territory, he gets booted so the territory is gifted to the player who booted him instead! I've effectively pincer-ed myself.

It's a fog game; we currently can't see anything. Can you make a follow-up post when the game has ended? Also, it might be appropriate to post this in the bugs forum.

I don't think this is something verifiable by looking at history.. although it Might be testable..

Perhaps it just defaulted to the next person on the gift territory selection list, who happened to be the booter..?

It's not unlikely the booter *also* attacked (and conquered) the territory. Think about it, if you don't care about sportsmanship at all, wouldn't you just love booting someone instead of having to defeat them in open combat?
Either way, it would help a lot to have that fog lifted and be able to see what happened exactly. So, hurry up MentalJargon, defeat those opponents of yours already! ;)

No he couldn't have attacked the territory as was miles away in combat. The order in the history now says I gifted it to the bootee.

Wasn't sure about going straight to bugs section as could've been a known part of the game engine just something I'd not come across happening.

Sounds like something that would need to be discussed with Fizzer... assuming he has access to a log of what your selection was for the gift. May be the only way to confirm what actually happened.

The game has now ended; fog has lifted. In turn 9, I see an order "MentalJargon gifts Ukraine to !! CZ-SK !! pidka13".

And indeed, pidka13 was nowhere near. However, there's only four players to begin with (3 left after the boot). So if a bug causes the gift to go to another player, there's a 2/3 chance it being an opponent and a 1/3 chance that being (by sheer coincidence) the booting player (2/2 and 1/2 if the gifting player is not taken into account; it'd take a look at the code to see whether that's the case).

Unfortunately, that means I cannot confirm your "The order in the history now says I gifted it to the bootee."; for me it looks like you just made a blunder... If you don't want to go to the bugs forum, I suggest you try to trigger this bug again (luckily, this scenario is very easy to replicate), making *very* sure (triple-checking) you select the right person to gift it to, then see what happens.
