Characteristics of Mycenean civilization:
- a centralized palace economy involved in the organization and production of agriculture and trade, with palaces often located on fortified hills within 15 miles of the sea and surrounded by farms - scribes/bureaucrats using Linear B - kings and nobles who value war and use bronze weapons - inhumation
But all this would come to an end before or during the Greek Dark Age(s). Historians seem to disagree as to how or why Mycenean civilization collapsed. Which theory do you support?
1. Internal revolution of slaves (hence Dorian) bring an end to the palace politico-economic systems. 2. Outside invasions of Indo-Europeans end Mycenean civization and mix with the Greeks to give rise to new Greek dialects. 3. Outside invasians of proto-Greeks (Dorians) from the original homeland of the Greeks to the north, who mix with the Myceneans to give rise to new Greek dialects. 4. Natural disaster(s) lead to depopulation, the abandonment of villages, the collapse of the palace economy system, the overthrow or decline of the monarchical systems, and the eventual replacement of kings with communal chiefs (basileus, who hundreds of years later become kings in their own right in certain areas). 5. Greek warfare leads to the events described in 4 above. 6. Other.
I find it interesting that historians disagree about this. Maybe some of the Greek players have some interesting ideas about their history.

they spent so much time asking themselves how previous civilizations collapsed that they forgot to take care of their own civilization.
