We just had a rule change for CL 11.

Old Rule
In the event of a substitution, the on-going games for the retired player will not be remade. Only games which have not been created will be allotted to the substitute. Both players will use up a slot playing this tournament. A substitution can be carried out by the CL staff. We will guarantee the substitution within a maximum of 3 days. Any new games created within this 3 day period for the retired player may be forfeit as well.

To this :

New Rule
In the event of a substitution, the on-going games for the retired player will not be remade. Only games which have not been created will be allotted to the substitute. Both players will use up a slot once the tournament has at least one game created. A substitution can be carried out by the CL staff. We will guarantee the substitution within a maximum of 3 days. Any new games created within this 3 day period for the retired player may be forfeit as well.

The full story can be found in the Division A thread. However, the short TL;DR version is that a clan (MH) did a sub that violated the old rule as it would place a player on 4 slots. However, this was not spotted in time and the tournament and games started. It was determined that the best action was to change the rule to what is now the new and current rule.

Qualifier 2 has started.

Due to a small confusion of zaky declining the tournament and then joining back when a substitution was made, there are now two players from USSR clan in 1v1 Strat ME WR tournament. Because of the substitution made, games played with Eóinob alone with contribute to the points earned. And yeah, mod will go 7-0 and will get 18 points for Blitz. He is already 3-0, looking to end this tournament today itself.

All three tournaments (1v1 Strat ME, 2v2 FE and 3v3 EU) have started and good luck to all participants. The next batch of tournaments (1v1 British Raj and Hannibal at gates) will be created tomorrow.

Poll results (at the time of writing this post):

How will Q2 finish like? - 19 responses
Rank	Clan
1.6	Blitz
2.6	Wizards
2.7	HAWKS
3.5	Discovery
5.4	LEA
6.0	Nuke Diplomacy
6.1	USSR

With many Master clan players playing for Blitz, they're clear favorites to win the division. Second place maybe swinging back and forth between Wizards and HAWKS, but it really doesn't matter. As long as a clan gets into top 3, they will goto Div.C. Positions 4th-7th depends on how well these 4 clans perform against each other. If they're going to be ranked, it will be LEA and Discovery for 4-5 and USSR and Nuke Diplo for 6-7.

Hey guys I there occurred some weird situation in a 2v2 game in Q1

LEA vs Hawks 2v2
The player Moussa was last seen 3 hours ago so his profile tells. But he just made his turn a few minutes ago. His playing time tells also he made the last turn after exactly 3days. He did not changed into AI. So the question is.. When the turn was not from Moussa's profile. And it was no AI. Were it aliens?

Is this a Warlight bug?

It's a warzone's feature afaik;
for MD games, if you had made moves beforehand, it gets saved in server and if you don't commit by boot time-the saved orders gets executed.

Auto Commit
Prior to this update, failing to press the Commit button before the timer hit 0 in an auto-boot game would result in you getting booted and losing the entire game. Now, with this update, Warzone will simply use the orders you’ve entered so far as your set of orders for the game and continue it as if you had pressed Commit.

This makes the booter much more forgiving and allows you to continue to try and salvage a game where you would have otherwise been granted an instant-loss. Auto commit is a necessary prerequisite for games with faster boot times. Once this update is fully deployed, we’ll start to reduce boot times on some real-time templates to experiment with making real-time games faster.

1v1 Strat ME WR 0%:
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer/Tournament?ID=28372

17 out of 21 games finished. The tournament is near completion, with games that would determine the first place still ongoing.

LEA (Gyver) vs Blitz (master of desaster)
Both players get their first 3 picks and take their first bonus worth 4+ in two turns. However, with his 2nd bonus taking 1 turn more than that of Gyver's, mod faces trouble in West Africa. West and Central russia are just for getting card pieces for both the players and once Gyver stack breaks West africa bonus there is an income difference of 3 and then ,it is a matter of time for getting the triple border over mod's East Africa bonus-which seals up the game.

LEA (Gyver) vs HAWKS (Thor)
Thor gets his first 3 picks and Gyver gets 1,2,6. With intel on Thor's picks, Gyver decides to show at scott turn 1 and stacks up armies to deny Thor that bonus. With South East Asia taking a turn more to get to Gyver's 12 income, Thor goes for Australia and gets it-while Gyver eliminates Thor from Antarctica to take it for himself. With Gyver having double border and taking card piece every turn, Thor's bonus is broken and he surrenders.

LEA (Gyver) vs USSR (Eoinob)
Great luck for Gyver to complete Australia with all 3v2 successful attacks for first two turns while 1 3v2 attack fails for Eoinob-which denies him from completing his first bonus in turn 2; this creates a good advantage for Gyver, who builds up armies to break South America, while taking Indonesia. With big army difference and income difference Gyver wins the game.

LEA (Gyver) vs Nuke D(Tim Bennet)
Tim makes only 3 picks and luckily gets all three of them. Gyver spreads out his picks, getting intel on 2 of Tim's picks. While Tim completes FTB and takes West Russia in turn 3-he fails to grow in Europe first and take Georgia-gateway to his core, Gyver completes his three starting pick bonuses and keeps Tim busy in Caucasus. While Tim takes Greenland first and then Europe, failing to take Iran gives way to Gyver to come and break his bonuses, resulting in Tim's defeat.

Blitz (master of desaster) vs Wizards (6)
mod completes his first bonus on turn 2 and drives 6 out of Scott. Completing bonus on turn 3 and no means to fight mod's armies, 6 surrenders.

Blitz (master of desaster) vs Discovery (Penguinos)
Penguinos gets his first 3 picks, while mod gets 1,2,5. Just keeping that 5th pick stopping Penguinos from taking his bonus and getting 2 successful 3v2 attacks, mod gets his first bonus on turn 2. Fighting behind income and failing a 3v2 attack that would give a bonus-Penguinos surrenders.

Blitz (master of desaster) vs HAWKS (Thor)
Thor gets 2 successful 3v2 attacks turn 2 to get his bonus, while trying a counter on Central America. mod takes Australia as his first bonus and missing a card piece, he blockades Cuba. While Thor gets Caucasus and tries to eliminate mod from South America, mod grows faster in Indonesia, East China and SEA. This quick expansion isn't matched by slow expansion of Thor into East Russia. Once even at income, suddenly Thor gets behind in income and he surrenders.

Blitz (master of desaster) vs USSR (Eoinob)
mod gets his first 3 picks-with one being in a wasteland bonus, while Eoinob gets 1,2,4, getting intel on Greenland. Eoinob gets lucky with 3v2 attacks getting him West Africa in turn2 and South America in turn 3. By this time, he has no leftovers to work with to get a card piece and so deploys 4 to take a territory in East Africa and 1 to Columbia. With enough leftovers, mod deploys 1 to Nuuk to get a card piece with 3v2 and deploys rest to break South America. Eoinob grabs East Africa and then goes to break South America and Antarctica, but mod takes back South America, then to break Antarctica and West Africa. Eoinob surrenders after seeing this huge army difference.

Blitz (master of desaster) vs Nuke D (Tim Bennet)
Tim makes 4 picks and mod gets intel on one of those picks. With both players getting to 12 income by turn 3 and Tim slightly ahead in come after that, he fails to attack mod and grows in Greenland-which is a wastelanded bonus. After a point, mod decides to stack up and attack-which eventually breaks South America, making Tim to surrender.

Wizards (6) vs Discovery (Penguinos)
Both players lose 1 pick out of their first 3 picks and tries to complete a +3 bonus by turn 2. 6 has bad luck of not getting a successful 3v2 in SEA, but Penguinos has bad luck that a 3v2 attack works in countering Antarctica. Penguinos tries to take back Antarctica, but because of SEA bonus coming into play, he couldn't do so. Not getting card pieces, Penguinos can't defend against 6's armies and surrenders.

Wizards (6) vs Nuke D (Tim Bennet)
Both players lose 1 pick out of their 4 picks and Tim goes for completing Greenland first. He tries to take Norway from 6, but grows in Canada to take it. While slightly ahead in income, he decides to be defensive-giving away his chance of victory. Taking Europe and having a large stack in Ukraine and reaching out to Central America to get a double border, Tim had this game won-but he surrenders once 6 takes Svalbard. Strange luck for 6.

Discovery (Penguinos) vs HAWKS (Thor)
Both players gets their first 3 picks. While Thor gets SEA FTB and then Central America in turn 2, he has the advantage of income-but then goes to expand randomly-to throw away this. Penguinos gets lucky with a successful 3v2 attack, completing East Africa and once he gets the double border over Thor,he punishes him for his wasted armies. Thor blockades Iran and gets to Western Siberia, but because of slow expansion in Indonesia and existing army difference, Penguinos seals his win by eliminating Thor from the triple border and taking Middle East.

Discovery (Penguinos) vs USSR (Eoinob)
Eoinob gets his first 3 picks, while Penguinos gets intel on one of Eoinob's picks. Starting with FTB, Penguinos decides to grow in efficient bonuses and move towards Scott-while Eoinob, starting with Australia, fails to take Scott to ensure the safety of his bonuses.Once broken, he is far behind in income and loses more bonuses than he could break. after a few turns, seeing how he couldn't stop Penguinos aggression, he surrenders.

HAWKS (Thor) vs USSR (Eoinob)
Both players get their first 3 picks and fights with even income for few turns, until Thor breaks South America. While Thor expands to Europe, his third bonus Eoinob grabs Australia, his second bonus. This difference in income grows faster, as Thor takes Central America and Eoinob blockades South America, while taking East China. Breaking the blockade and expanding in caucasus, Thor gets the income advantage and being behind, Eoinob surrenders.

HAWKS (Thor) vs Nuke D (Tim Bennet)
Though Tim has intel on Thor's start in East US, he decides to try taking Central America FTB-which is countered by Thor. Thor just deploys to deny Central America and a failed 3v2 attack in Taiwan lets Thor to once again counter Tim's bonus completion. With income advantage and card piece advantage Thor wins the game.

USSR (Eoinob) vs Nuke D (Tim Bennet)
Both players lose one out of their first 3 picks, while Tim gets lucky in getting a good Fizzer pick-as he made only 3 picks. Tim plays well to eliminate Eoinob from Africa but failing to take East Africa ahead of bonuses with 4 wastelands, this expansion is matched by Eoinob. Capitalizing on Tim's passive play, Eoinob grows further, and as the income difference is huge-Tim's idea of moving out with one big stack doesn't work and he surrenders.

Nuke D (Tim Bennet) vs Discovery (Penguinos)
Both players lost 1 pick out of their first 3 picks, but because Tim had a later pick, he gives one of his starts to Penguinos. Because Penguinos growing in South America and not in one of his starts(Indonesia) , Tim manages to take West Russia and break Scandinavian, forcing the small income advantage to make Penguinous surrender.

1/21 games have finished.

Blitz (Jefferspin, Tito, Master Turtle) vs Discovery (Banjo, MrTrolldemort,Denriev)

While Blitz players mirror their picks, Discovery players fail to mirror and two of them makes only 8 picks; this gives Fizzer picks for them. With Denriev's picks away from others picks, it is more or less 2v3 for Discovery. While MrTrolldemeort pushes Master Turtle out of Iceland with his FTB army advantage, he doesn't have enough income to stop Jefferspin-who was freely growing. Tito, who grabs his starting bonuses goes to break Banjo's only bonus-letting Master Turtle to eliminate his two starts. After all these had happened Denriev gets his bonuses broken, sealing the game as Blitz team's victory.

1v1 Hannibal at the gates:
No games have finished.

1v1 British Raj:
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer/Tournament?ID=28598
6/21 games have finished. Because of MrPink declining and no sub-Nuke Diplomacy forfeits this tournament, getting 6 auto losses.

LEA grabs the first spot(due to high max points) and are yet to lose a game. Gyver had given an excellent performance so far and will mostly end up as the tournament winner for 1v1 Strat ME. They go 5-0 since the start (5-0 in 1v1).

Blitz grabs most wins and are in second spot due to their max points. They're finishing games faster than other clans. They finish 7-1 (6-1 in 1v1 and 1-0 in 3v3).

Wizards claims the third spot and are so slow in finishing their games. They seem to have some sort of luck this time too. They finish 3-1 (1v1).

HAWKS comes fourth not because they didn't win enough games, but because they finished more games than 3rd spot. They finish 3-3(1v1).

USSR comes fifth, trying to get away from the last two spots. If they're to move up , they got to capitalize on the advantage they get. They finish 2-4. (1v1)

Discovery comes sixth; if they're to catch up to others-they should look for more wins. They finish 3-4 (3-3 in 1v1 and 0-1 in 3v3).

Nuke Diplomacy comes seventh; they could've had 1 or 2 more wins, but that wouldn't compensate the forfeit loss. They finish 1-11 (1-5 in Strat ME and 0-6 in British Raj).

Looking at the start, it seems like LEA is into the race for going to Div.C and this makes the qualifier more interesting.

Thanks for the write up.
When I summarize current CL status in HAWKS. I like to calculate the "point rate".
Means Achieved points per contested points.

Example:
Blitz has now 23 points
and 105 max points of initial 108 points

Formula is then
23/(23+(108-105))
or just
23/(23+3)=88%

For Wizards
9/12=75%

...

So when a clan is slower, it does not show them better than faster playing clans

Yes, we've a %Points contested in the spread sheet, which is calculated like you mentioned. That is why Blitz is 2nd and Wizards are 3rd, though their max points are same.

(p.s: Ignore USSR's W-L and Win rate-it needs to be fixed.)

1) congrats Gyver!! Nicely done!! Like a MacGyver.

2) In CL rules it says I have to annoumce it at least 3 days before this event. And before I forget it I better announce it now.

Player J.P. (Germany) will extend the vacation of player Axl (Ukraine) before his current vacation expires.

Since both also play together in 2v2 and 3v3 ladder, J.P. might do moves for him at the ladders BUT not in the CL tournaments 2v2 FE and 3v3 EU.

Is that procedure correct?
