Only One way to find out. Buy a Membership and see if you can run the template.

The ability to set your luck level is one of the member benefits. The only exception is if you're using a built-in template. This exception was made so non-members can use the Strategic 1v1 template.

That did just change in the last update though right? I dont think im going crazy...


And the only reason I needed to use a custom template is to set open seat prerequisites for the strategic 1v1 template. Is there any way I can still get a strategic 1v1 with join requirements?

No, I don't believe anything in this area changed in the last update. If it did work before it was a bug. You can try to prove me wrong - just find and post a link to a game that's created by you with a luck level that's not 75% and that didn't use a built-in template.

Warlight is not a game were you cant be fair. If you have faund a way/bug to acsess mebers stuff you schuld show Fizzer so it can be fixed.

Ahh, I see what you found. It turns out there is a bug. When creating a game via the Settings panel of a game that didn't use a template, it thought you were using a built-in template. I have fixed the bug, and also made Lykus a member for reporting it.

Fizzer, it's great to see you solved this so elegantly, there's a lot of people and companies out there who would've fixed the bug and left it at that. It might sound weird (since this doesn't directly affect me), but still: thank you!

Wow, grats Lykus. I guess in retrospect that was a pretty significant bug, as it could be used to negate the biggest reason to become a member.

i'd say the ladders are the best reason to be a member - one of the best ways to get games against good/top opponents. (another thing i sometimes use is the 'luck history' in the stats, to see whether the dice rolls favoured me in a game, or my opponent.)

The ladders are a good reason if you are good enough to participate. Lykus is good enough to hold his ground, but I think most people would get frustrated before they figured out enough to hold their own.

The stats page is actually really neat, but it's more of a perk than a reason to sign up for membership on its own.

That stats page is nice for seeing total armies deployed and not needing as much focus on deployment. The 16% luck is also absolutely critical as far as I am concerned... I generally refuse to play higher luck games.

As for the ladder, it's a wakeup call for most new members. I know I certainly expected to do better than I did... was nice proof of my mediocrity.
