Well, you said not to post in the other threads with questions, so I'll ask it here. Can you clarify the role of the investor? What does investing entail? How do they participate in the league? Only during drafting? Only between seasons?

you, the investor, gives the manager money. he uses it to buy players. (the manager also has a default amount of capital eg $1000).
we are thinking that manager and players are the main people in this game. but that investing in clubs is a nice way for everyone to speculate a bit on the league, managers, etc.
if you think a manager will do well, you can invest your standard eg $10 of WL capital in that club. at the end of the season, you get a fraction of the club's profits (if any) due to prizes for league position and sales of players.

When will we learn who are the players/investors/managers?

|> Also Investors will have minimum games restriction , to prevent newly created accounts from taking advantage of the system.
Shouldn't there be a minimum number of days since joining Warlight? I mean, you can play 100 games a day if you wanted to, you'd probably lose most of them due to the volume, but you could. I've barely cracked 100 ranked games myself, but I've been playing steadily for over a year and even made a map.

Question About Player Salary:
As a potential Player, why would I want to exact a larger fee than the minimum per my band?
A personally higher player salary will only strap my team for cash and weaken it overall, plus cause us to lose the team with the most money category.
Below idea is to sorta add capitalism to the mix:
A combined Free Agent/Auction system - Example: Team 1 has MVP1 on his team at a salary. Then, at the next round, the Team 1 Manager has first right to either give the player a set minimum raise (~5%) or keep the salary the same, or drop him.
Then;
-If the player gets a minimum raise, then he's retained for the next season and no longer a free agent.
-If he's dropped, any manager can buy him for the minimum price.
-If he's kept the same, he becomes a free agent and other team managers can buy the player for a set minimum raise (~10%). The player must transfer to the higher bidder. If no other managers want to pay the premium, then he stays on the same team.

hi John - well, in the 'winning' section of the wiki, we say that players are judged (in large part) on how much money they make.
there is a 'prize' for being the richest player - we will rank players on how much they are paid over the season.
(so yes, winning the league, and winning your games, are also good, but we think that this ranking will make players ask for the best salary they can get - after all, it is about the only cost to the clubs - if the manger doesn't pay you well, he just uses the money to pay another player well).

Oh, I though the highest money prize was only to the club.
I saw the club had other expenses such as "Club Improvements" that as a Team Player, I'd rather have a better team with nice improvements.
The prize for player will help players demand money, thanks!

Heck sorry just saw I posted in the wrong place - so many threads >.<
Copy - paste:
Hi myhand first - good on you and everyone helping set this up it really is a novel and interesting idea.
My first observation on the player division is that the classes have unequal numbers of players i.e 10 class 3 players - 4 class 2 players etc.
There are 6 teams right? I think anyway. So every team can't have a player from each class. How do you plan to keep the teams of equal strength? (I know truely equal isn't possible - but i'm guessing you are aiming for fairness?)
Edit 15 class 3s

Hi good job of organising myhand and unknown...
When do we hear what Home Map the managers have picked?
Or is the home map and settings not permanent for the season but temporary and can change every game?

Ska - there are 4 teams in Season Beta.
we rated players as best we could, it just happened there they fell into those categories. if managers really want a player, they will have to bid more than th other teams (and therefore have less so spend on the rest of the squad).
