If who got to become a manager was based on who asked first, I believe it would be a very poor system. Instead the managers should be persons who myhand knows have the required attributes such as reliability.

Okay manager candidates, we decided to let another 2 managers in to the league.
Also we decided to let the candidates themselves decide who that will be. So please each of you do me a favor, open a game, invite me and tell me who of the people intrested in the job are your two candidates.
Please do it fast, since we want to start the league soon.

So, to decide the final two managers, you're asking those interested in being a manager to invite you to a game and nominate two other people as manager? So only those nominated by others will be considered? Or does the game invite also count as a self-nomination?

Or are you asking people to express interest again by inviting you to a game? And in that game you must vote on two nominated candidates from a list you provide, which will be created based on who invites you to a game to express interest or not? Or do you then vote on two others people that have already expressed interest previously in this thread?

I'm not even interested in being a manager, but for the sake of those that are, I think some clarity would be helpful.

Yeah, I agree with Mikkelsen. Several people have expressed interest, but I don't know who to even "vote" for at this point. Could I pick someone who expressed no interest, or only someone who has expressed some? Should they have expressed it here, or in any of the various threads on the topic?

I suppose I couldn't vote for myself, but I'm at a loss as to how most people would know if I were running, or who else is running.

hi, we are trying to move fast with this beta season, we want to pick managers now (maybe next 24 hours). alas, we don't really have many/any votes on this thread, so how do we pick? what myhand is trying to do, is get the managers who volunteered here, to vote among themselves. he thinks this is the best and quickest way to get this done.

i think you just have to pick the most active players, then you have the best chance that this league will be a succes.

Im interested if you can be both a player and manager.

a general question for ace and mathwolf: i know you guys take your turns once every 2-3 days. will you be more active as managers? unknown and myhand seem to put a lot of time and thought into this.

jr, myhand wants to start this as soon as possible, but wants to find reliable managers first. if he doesn't know a person, he is unsure how reliable that person is. he asked for thread-watchers to vote (to gauge whom others deem to be reliable). nobody responded. so he asked managers. i don't think any of us responded.

myhand is putting a good amount of time into this, brainstorming with unknown and other friends, he's going to draw mascots, etc. if he does this much work and a manager just quits, he would be a bit disappointed. i think he wants to avoid such an outcome by ensuring the managers are trustworthy.

the structure for choosing a manager is therefore less important than finding trustworthy managers. end > means.

Its too late to sign up for this season. There's a player recruitment thread that clarifies this. Season Two will likely be here in about 1 month.
