[My latest map](http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer.aspx?PreviewMap=12547)

Territory names will be added later.

The other thread was misleading, so here's the official thread. Open to all testers at the moment, but especially looking for experienced players for 1v1 and 2v2 that can give insight on how to improve the map in terms of competetive play.

Looks pretty good man! I wonder, was it inspired by Chaos' series, "Battle Islands"? It looks like a retro, pirate-y version of one of the BI maps, which is definitely a good thing. Make sure to give the territories super pirate-y names!

And give one territory a 10-army bonus, but without the bonus link, and name the bonus Treasure!

Nice! Is there a way to do this, ie have a single territory with a bonus, yet have it be hidden to players? As in, you are fighting on the map like usual, when you see your income go up by 10?

TexasJohn, I think Chaos and I just both used the islands as natural chokepoints. I'd be happy if this map were to play so well as his.

Regarding the treasure bonus, as much as it would fit in with the map, one of the Star Trek maps has that and it really tilts the game if the players aren't familiar with it. I'm not a fan.

Not including a bonus square is easy enough. Hiding it from the game setup process (which list all bonuses to allow their values to be overridden), I'm guessing it's not. The "More info" window will also always list which bonuses a territory is part of (of course, that doesn't really help since it requires selecting the "right" territory first). Finally, clicking "Settings" and "Bonuses and Territories" will give you a complete overview as well.

Apart from that, like Muppet says, should you want to? Since maps are always the same each game, players who've played a map before will already know it's there, even if you could hide it completely. This would be an unfair advantage for experienced players (and very probably a huge source of people reporting each other for "cheating").

Now, if there were a way to randomize which territory holds the treasure (and you'd put a nice big text on the map explaining there *is* a treasure), it would be a pretty nifty variant. But I'm not aware of such a mechanism and I really doubt it can currently be done. If you like the idea and think it would be awesome to have implemented, there's always UserVoice...

Including a so called "treasure bonus" will just make this map unplayable as the outcome is decided by pure luck
