When i app, i have to get out of chat or scroll all the way up in the long conversations in order to see refresh button.
Suggestion:
1. Make auto refresh
2. Make button follow us everywhere we scroll

Good idea, that doesn't sound annoying at all.
Why not post it, and vote for other ideas on uservoice

Edit: On a serious note, this may be a good idea if you implement a toggle with a timeout to reduce server load and client-side speeds.
