I joined the 1v1 ladder last friday, but still I haven't started any games in it.

Now, I remember something about new games being created every 2 hours, so I'm just wondering if that's normal?

Depending on how long since you joined. A delay is usual, yes (let's say max a couple hours).

It appears that the ladder must make your first game against someone with no rating. That's either another new player, or someone who hasn't played in long enough that they have no rating (3 months). Sometimes another person joins the same time as you, but sometimes they join a couple days later.

First one popped out just today, so it's fine
