I think it's a pity such a nice "Thank you Fizzer" thread got derailed so badly... On most other threads, meh, it happens. But one of the (rare! :( ) ones that tries to say thank you to someone who's been putting an incredible amount of time in a game we all really enjoy? I think that's a shame...

Every game host with a game that lasts for a hundred days without any turns progressing gets a warning e-mail, and after 2 more weeks the delayer is being booted. There's no way to get rid of or alter this setting.

It's a kind of safety net, making sure that all games will *eventually* finish. Before the autoboot was created, games could stall indefinitely. For instance, if two players go "missing" at the same time vote-to-boot doesn't work, since you need one of them to be able to boot the other.
Essentially, the universal autoboot ensures all games have an autoboot, even the ones originally created without one.
