Well, I like T4R, but I'm not really too into "roleplaying". Are there any clans that play 1v1 or 2v2 available to noobs like me? I just want more of a friendly atmosphere with people willing to teach. I learn easy, and apply my new skills quickly. I'm always willing to listen, and I've been told I'm half decent :)

REGL, VIW, 101st, GG, warlighters (not official clan)

all of these will be a good fit for you I think, and I might have missed some too.

Thank you. How do I apply? Is it different for each one?

The 101st have requirments: unfortunately the biggest one is at least 200 games played (for alts sake). If you want learning id try another clan.

Well, I'm not looking for a "Schooling" clan. But I would hope some members would be willing to teach. Overall, I just want a friendly clan that plays simple games.

WG is a serious clan, but you would not meet our prerequisites either. We focus more on players that are already established that can go to the next level (or are already there) than teaching people.

Like for WG, You don't meet GG prerequisites too. You should do more games before thinking for an application in some clan. That's my suggestion!

No offense to gg, but I never asked to join.

And out of all the possible goals, I think I'll try for V.I.W

No offense to you, but your post is contradictory. Your title is "Serious Clans?", then your post is looking for a friendly clan that trains. Those are usually two different things. Perhaps instead of serious in the title, you should have said non role-playing.

Lol, I understand. There just kind of things I'm looking for. But if you're a "serious" clan, that means you DON'T train at all? That seems very....elitist? Maybe just picky, but how would you improve your clan?
And I would hope every clan to be friendly, but I know not every clan is.

We are picky, yes. We did not start off that way, but as the initial members got better, we added new members in line with our skill level. Since our clan plays at a very high level, why would we add someone not also playing at a high level? There is some element of potential in people that we look at (the idea that they have not peaked and can get even better), but they have to be playing at a pretty high level already. The player has to be someone you can count on to make solid moves without a large amount of oversight.

The point is we only add if they are a really good player, because that is our goal. It is not to grow for the sake of growth, but only to add someone that also adds to the clan. We train people, but they must also provide training to us in some ways. For example, Tenshi played very few team games when he joined WG. He is learning other formats from us, and we learn Strat ME from him (those that need help there, and those that don't get to see a different style that works anyway). We all grow and benefit from the addition. Some clans do a one way training, but we prefer a two way street where we all learn and get better.
