So after my first map has been acceptable, and I've picked up some inkscape and warlight basics on the way, now I want to try a real challenge.
What I want to do is a map of the largest military confrontation in history, the eastern european fronts in world war II, roughly during the moment of greatest axis expansion in 1942.
The axis bonuses will have similar colours, and so will the soviet bonuses of course, but other than that it will have no other effects on how the bonuses work.
Now here's the real kicker: instead of *country* bonuses, this map will have bonuses based on the **real historical divisions and their controlled territories during august 1942**
- Basic bonuses consisting of real life armies and divisions (6th "Paulus", the 8th Guard "Khryukin")
- Superbonuses based on army groups (center "Bock", southwest "Timoshenko")
I'm aiming for some 150 territories maybe, I think this should be good fun for 2v2, 4v4...

With multi-attack mode renamed to Blitzkrieg mode :)
But it's a good idea! I only don't know where to get the troop locations and such from. Especially the Soviet ones will be hard to find.

I got the troop locations covered, there's extensive material about that subject. Troop numbers and death tolls are a different story, the numbers are blurred there. But there's hundreds of maps available which show the position of the armies almost day by day during the entire war, so that's not a worry.

Even Soviet troops? I can't imagine those to be easily found on the internet.
