Gnuffone has broken the rules big time. He has abused other people's accounts to give himself advantages on ladders. He has sabotaged other clans in many games. He has used his access to others' accounts to manipulate games in 20A, clan league, nations league, and possibly more. I don't think it's biased or unfair to expect a permanent ban for that.

His apology sounds dishonest when you think that he, just a few days ago, vehemently denied everything and his last "apology" contained provable lies.

See? Reason not to believe. I still have my doubts about his apology being true, but my mind is on the other side of the scale now

Lawlz, you got a warning, so how can you use yourself as an example for Fizzer not reacting to rule breakers?! Come on man...
Also, like Odin said, we aren't dealing with a petty rule breaker here. Gnuffone broke the Terms of Service many times in games, official ladders, tournaments and leagues. How can you defend/support that (defend and support are actually pretty synonymous here)???

But only because of Odin. You guys still sound like whiny brats

I don't SUPPORT the rule breaking

But I'll Defend that he was trying to apologize.

Again, I'm on your side now, okay?

I don't want him banned because it's him, I want him banned because he broke the Terms of Service.

Yet everyone is throwing a specific fit over gruff. Hmm, I don't see anybody talking about me, or anybody else that's broken rules.

Remember that?

Why do we seem whiny? We see a player who has won pretty much every accolade WarLight can offer in an unfair way, cheating this system. Why should we sit back and let him polish his shiny trophies?

I'm done arguing. If you can't see what I was trying to say, talking about it isn't going to help.

@Odin, thank you for showing somewhat of proof. I mean, I don't know you, so your word isn't much to me, but I'll just have to trust you.

Come on guys.
Does he deserve bashing? Of course he does.
Does he deserve a ban? maybe.

But what difference does it make now?
none.

I am the one who controls his account now anyways..
And I am sure that if he will ever try to go back, he will create next account.

Is he a legend on this site? It's not for me to judge. But some things are certain:
even though he:
1) abused the system to unbelievable extent, obviously breaking the rules
2) cheated using both - his alts and friends' account
3) bragged way to often
4) Spied on other clans and people

He still:
5) was one of the very best players.
6) taught many of today's top players
7) was one of the most involved players of all time
8) from all the players i have known, he had most passion for this game.
9) was able to achieve in fair game most of what he cheated for.

His main problem was his ego. He never had enough. He always needed others to admire him. I am not going to go into detail why do i think it was his case, but he needed it. That's why he was bragging all the time, and wanted to be recognised as the ultimate player - better than the rest, the very best, the unbeatable, the legend. The two last points - 8) and 9) make me want to stand by his side, even if for some reasons i do feel cheated on as well.. And i was closer to him than most of you if not all who speak here. However i do pity him that he used cheating to achieve what he was indeed able to do with a little focus, and fair play.

I do believe his example should be a lesson for all the other people willing to cheat to achieve anything on a meaningless internet game site.. All in all it's only that. Don't get me wrong - i still find this game awesome, and i do admire all the hard work Fizzer is doing to maintain the site and develop the game. It's just that - truth to be told - this will never be anything more than a game. Gnuffone needed to be recognised as the best among the best, and his actions, as i said before - unnecessary ones, made the community recognise him but not as what he wanted to be admired for. He became infamous, and i do believe in his case this is big enough failure and big enough punishment. He lost everything he was fighting for.

so a permanent ban?? if you think this should be a lesson for all the other people willing to cheat is that the only option right, else everyone can say " hè, what he did was 10 times worse then i did". So i this case it's the only option then.

At the end of the day, he cheated to get considerable achievements. But it is not for us to delve into his mind and judge he has repented enough. An example should be made of him - a permanent ban and a removal of all his trophies and achievements.

Ban for the sake of banning is meaningless. Ban just to make example is also meaningless. It's to late to change anything.

By his example i meant that even when you cheat you have to be aware that sooner or later, people will find out and you will be ostracised and people will be disguisted by your actions.. Call it Karma, call it social impact, call it justice, call it whatever you like. The punishment will come for you. We may only hope that in the future real-time punishments will PREVENT people from cheating. punishing after the guy has retired is.. well... ineffective to say the least.

I disagree. Players don't know he is retired. His alts certainly aren't. A ban makes an example of him.

If a serial killer kills his last person and says they are really sorry and they will stop murdering, do we let them go free as they have repented?

Fridge makes a good point maybe a more creative punishment is in order Fizzer could blacken his account
meaning his account will show no text and no ladder statistics so the thing he cheated to get will not be shown
I have to continue and agree with Fridge yes Gnuffone did some shady stuff but also did a lot of good we should also remember that

blacken his account

Or ban him and remove all his trophies. Achieves the same thing as his credentials are gone and it says he was a cheater on his profile (suspended for violating...)
