Stannis's demise: He's burned his lovable cutie pie daughter at the stake, his religious zealot wife kills herself (even she has a heart), his armies piss off, and Melisandre then abandons him too. This succession of events perfectly walks that fine line of being kinda funny, without winking at the audience (a la Tyrions not mentioned in ASOIAF book at end - stupid) taking you out of the story. Brienne's final slash looked stupid the way they filmed it, but the lead up was awesome...
