I've decided I love this game. But this community hasn't really been all that inviting; since I joined the forums I've been publicly accused of being an alt, and then when I asked for help on what might or might not be a bug I was laughed at by two people, who then started to attack each other on the same thread.

Not exactly a very warm welcome. Shame on all of you except the one person who answered my question about the bug(?).

Every new player who discovers the forums is accused of being an alt. The lack of warm welcome may be due to you posting to many threads in a braggish way.. just throwin out possibilities

?? I fail to see how I've been bragging, from the very start I admitted that I knew I was a noob and have asked about how to get better. Wtf?

You were mentioning your win rate from start, spamming your own profile with games of you winning (lol), trying to win tournaments by making them 1v1 with terrible players.. im not saying that all u did is a problem im just saying it COULD theoretically be a possibility some players are not giving you a warm welcome. As for me I was only commenting on the fact that you made tournies just to look good on your profile..

That's not true alts don't have bad stats. This is why Challenger is being accused of being an alt.

I was generalising.. challengers stats arent high enough to be considered an alt.. alts usually have 80%+ win rate

Ahh, okay, so it's the stats that are making people hostile to me. I get it now. Well screw that, I like winning games, so I guess people'll just have to hate me.

Only if they've had been trained or played new players, they wouldn't have a rating over 40%.

I played single-player at http://www.kongregate.com/games/fizzerwl/warlight for, I dunno, half a year, before trying this out, does that count as training?

I think you misunderstood.. I don't think challenger is an alt because his stats are too low.. People accused him of being an alt because he "randomly" discovered the forums and didn't have terribly low stats..

No...that's not what I'm saying. New players that generally have less than 50% can be considered new and just stumble over the forum. Players that have over this normally either cheat or play bad players or have had training already.

You can tell who's new or not on forum with their posts and threads, usually they create a lot in a short space of time. Alts usually are trolls. But who really cares, just making your u underdtood.

Okay, so I'm talkative, I've won more games than the average noob and apparently, I brag. Looks like most of the level 50s I've seen here are alts, too. XD
