|> 2: Implement railroads (to speed up travel time across space)

This has already been done a few times. For instance, the very old [Drakemor's World](http://warlight.net/Map.aspx?ID=745) has its Conjurer's and Wizard's Tower and (your own) [Greater Middle East](http://warlight.net/Map.aspx?ID=5498) has those sea routes (starting at the Guinea Pirates, up the coast, through the Mediterranean and completing its mirrored-and-rotated "S" through the Red Sea and then back up to Kuwait). I'm pretty sure I once played a (small) map of some (British??) city which had two railway lines running through it, but I went through all the maps twice and I can't find it again. :(

Also, there's the Benelux map Moros was working on (but which he currently can't complete because of file size limitations) which uses harbours and airports to connect selected places over great distances. The REAL warlord!!! did something similar in his (currently unpublished, for reasons unknown to me) Big Sweden map, as did Kdogfour in his Antheroth City map (currently being play-tested).

Of course, if you insist on it having to be railroads, and you want lots of them, there's always [this](http://warlight.net/Map.aspx?ID=1798) of course. ;)

RvW, I think you're talking about the map of Trójmiasto (Tri-City) in Poland: GdaƄsk, Gdynia and Sopot. The lines running through there are highways, if I'm correct.

@Domenico:
Nope, that's not it, but it *is* another example of (what I think) Evreux means, thanks for the addition!

@Perrin:
Buildable railroads would not fit into the game at all; I doubt that's what Evreux meant.

The examples I gave are all maps where there are long-range connections between (otherwise) non-bordering territories. And not in the sense of crossing an ocean, but in the sense of "skipping" a lot of territories in between. The idea is kind of similar to an Airlift, except that it doesn't cost you a card to use and it only exists between fixed locations.

It is still possible Evreux was thinking about an Airlift-like card which would (semi-)permanently add connections to a map... can you elaborate Evreux?

Also, I'm not quite sure how battleship would work...? Unless you mean a map where each territory represents (and is shaped like?) a ship. But that would have virtually nothing to do with the game Battleship (just to be clear, I'm thinking about the game where two players each have a grid, hidden from each other, where they place ships and then shoot at coordinates in an attempt to eliminate the other fleet).

RvW, my interpretation was based on the fact that railroads as you describe them are easily creatable already..
