Change the goddamn system already.

You do realize that nominating three or four shitty maps every week leads to the good maps being shoe-ins.

Do people actually care about Map of the Week at this point? I figured that its just an outdated tradition that is carried on for nostalgic reasons. Like handshaking, or saying "bless you" when someone sneezes.

Every time I vote for a map, I ask myself, what does this map bring to the table? Needless to say, this week's vote was a slam dunk.

I don't bother with the competition. The top 20% of maps should all be maps of the the week.

I do - I vote for the map I want to play. When it wins, then I join a game. Maybe this should be a feature? Auto games created with those, who voted for the winning map (and those who nominated the map if such wins)!

I base my ethics off of straight math. The top 20% of maps are (assuming the rating system works, which it does) the maps that the greatest number of players prefer. The greatest number of players would be satisfied if those maps all won MOTW, though that would entail 'gaming the system' and voiding competition. Yes, I am advocating for 'gaming the system.'
