If my musical taste would not have changed, i would have stopped listening music altogether. Never stop evolving!
I mostly listen to jazz, blues and soul nowadys. Always been passionate about music and pop music. There are albums i listened to as a 5-7 old, declaring them as my favorites among my dads music collection. And today they are still among my favorite.
I regard the 80ies to be the pinnacle of pop music.
Best latest album i came across is "John Maus - We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves".
If you're into 80ies synthie sounds and like new order, new wave in general...listen to it, really sophisticated pop music. Sounds a bit like new order and the magnetic fields joining up, while being immensely fresh and original. Album was released on you tube i think and made the man an upcoming hope instantly. Maus studied music science, he knows his stuff and how tones can invoke emotions in the human brain, most of the songs have a classical structure behind it (gregorian chores being the main influence), which you dont realize unlesss you know it. Though the production is low fi, and very minimalistic you can only admire the complexity it reaches - really plays in the same league as joy division/ new order in that department.

And yes, i would never have imagined saying that - but i made my experiences with the years. Be careful, music is powerful, period. And making persons idols who are severely sick by strict scientific clinically terms is never a good idea, no matter which music they play)
