I'm sure that map would be great, but territory sizes might be too small, you might not be able to find names for all the territories, and I think there is already a really big north america.

When you are making new territories, it is better to cut a bigger territory than to add others to it. So forst you should make the whole map, then draw a border line. Then you select both the map and border and press CRTL+/

Also use CRTL+L to simplify the lines you draw. This will make it look neater.
