A special request has been made for analysis of a game I lost. I picked this one because zibik is cool, and because I have almost nothing useful to say about the game in question thereby vindicating my decision to analyse games I won. http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=5520319

The map has 2 nice double picks. The multipick in aus and the FTB in South east asia. A double pick in central America could also be put to use, it is efficient and safe and might make a good pairing with another small bonus. I make standard picks. The thought process is simple, pick the second best combo, then the best combo, then a safe pick, then the best combo's counter. This is a tried and tested method for attaining an acceptable starting position. Zibik tries something much more clever. He doesn't pick aus knowing that without ant it will be useless. He knows that I have 2 ways of dealing with the safe and powerful aus combo. One is to pick ant 1st aus 2nd. The other is to Pick two other bonuses first, then ant 3rd aus 4th and then papua new guinea or south America as counters. For him to pick ant and not aus then if I select the first option I will have a 50% chance of getting aus on its own (useless) and if I select the second option I will certainly end up with aus on its own. He also takes scand for safety and expansion into Greenland. And west china as a counter to the first turn bonus. He picks south America so that if he doesn't get ant (presumably leaving me with ant/aus) then once he has finished south America he can time an attack into ant to break it the same turn I complete it.

Turn 1: He takes scand first because it is safest. I take the FTB because its the first turn. Duh.

Turn 2: I take the only bonus I can

Turn 3: Oh shit son!

Turn 4: I pray that he has spent enough income killing neutrals in asia for no income that he doesn't have the income to keep east china broken, seems unlikely but I have no better options

Turn 5: Surrender because Im not a loss delaying jerk off.

In Turn 3: Why did you do the delay-transfers from thailand AFTER you took Bejing?
There was no need to make them afterwards, but making them in front *might* have give you some options, still beeing in a bad position, but with slight income-edge (if zibiks attack of 5 is in front of your attack of 4, giving him 3 leftovers and you succed the 4v3).

Expecting some Counter (either Iran or West China, maybe Central Russia) was obvious, but hard to figure which one it would be, but either way, your attack of 4 to Bejing "should" have been later, giving you more options. And hiding you made a 4v2 instead of a 3v2 at that place seems odd, so taking it late would've been better.
