The oldest active clan is... eh, do we count REGL as active? It was one of the first clans ever, created in early 2011 AFAIK, but hardly an active one despite signing up to CL12.

Another contender is GG (formerly #Elite), which played in very first season of Clan League (summer, 2012), although some consider #Elite to be a separate clan.

And if not them, then {rp}, which also played in the first season of CL (though created several months later than #Elite) and there is no doubt they didn't change name and are still somewhat active.

Slightly newer are WG, VIW, and 101st, which all debuted in the second season of Clan League (summer/autumn 2012).

FBG is slightly older than REGL is if my memory serves me right. Both are still active (or at least have active members). I also thought REGL signed up for next CL?

That's what I also said, if you are responding to my post. :P And yeah FBG is even older, by far - june/july 2010, just didn't count it as active.

can a one-person clan sign up for clan league? what if it was a top player? they could win!

It can't, because you need to submit a line-up of at least 6 players thereafter.

So REGL can't join if they have four active members?

I mean, it's still a long way before actually submitting the line-ups (as per Clan League schedule). Maybe they can recruit some random noobs to fill it up, otherwise they'll end up not playing.

Context: Me on my old account tried to find the oldest clan and got a few responses. This is back in the old days when clans were not official and just a bunch of dudes with clan tags.

General consensus was football guys aka FBG was the first "clan" but this was more a group of friends from another site that migrated to this site and doesn't really do much even back then.

For a more current example that people would associate as a clan, we got red eagles aka [REGL].

That settles it then, Warlight Staff is the oldest clan. Also [PL] is very old as well.
