Hello,

I just won the Europe Challenge in 18 turns, earning a Gold Star. Great! However, when I won a message popped which suggested that somehow I'd been logged out of my user account (and true: if I refresh to the front page, the "Sign in" option is there, etc).

I hadn't closed the game yet, so I saved it, and made sure to check the "Enable Auto-Save" option. My victory now appears as a saved game.

However, the Gold Star does not appear on my "Single Player" menu. Is this normal? If so, is there any way I can fix this?

When the you save a game, you cannot gain a gold star, due to the possible cheat in form of - do turn ---> observe AI ---> Reload turn and perform it to counter the AI. As far as I know your gold star is gone for good, but I am far from a tech wiz!

That only applies to games that you do not click auto-save in. If you click auto-save, you can't do the reloading trick, since it would save as soon as the new turn started. Games with auto-save turned on are still able to be starred.

Therefore, M. Poireau should receive the Gold Star.

(I don't know how you can get the star, but I just wanted to make that note.)

Anyone have an idea on how I can fix this?

Right now there's nothing you can do, but hang on to that saved game. I'm going to change it in the next update so that loading a completed auto-save game will record the win. Watch the blog ( http://blog.warlight.net ) and once the next update is live, load the game, and it should record it.
