This thread (
http://warlight.net/Forum/Thread.aspx?ThreadID=4011) has an interesting concept. I don't want to start a clan. But starting an on-going championship series might be fun to watch and be part of.
------------------------------------------------------------
What I propose: 1v1 Champion vs Challenger (Best of 5 Series).
Game 1: auto-game (Medium Earth)
Game 2: auto-game settings on East Asia & Oceania (the only other map used on ladders)
Game 3: Champion makes a game on a new map.
Game 4: Challenger makes a game on a new map.
Game 5: Champion makes a game on a new map.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Rules
I. Game Requirements
1. Games 3-5 must use new maps. Medium Earth and East Asia & Oceania can't be used. Game 4 can't use the same map as Game 3. Game 5 can't use the same map as Games 3 or 4.
2. Maps Requirements (for Games 3-5): (a) Less than 150 territories (with the exception of Europe -- that is, Europe can be used). (b) More than 50 ratings. (c) Rated 3.0 or higher.
3. Map Settings (for Games 3-5): (a) Wastelands: Wastelands' army size can't exceed 10. (b) Neutrals: The majority of neutrals' army size must be 2. (c) Card settings: No more than four card types can be used; reinforcement cards can't exceed +5.
4. Luck Settings (for Games 3-5): (a) Luck can be 0% to 25% or 75%, nothing else. (b) Straight round and weighted random are allowed.
5. Vetoes: Each player gets 1 veto for Games 3-5. If you don't like the map or settings of your opponents' first proposed game, you can veto it. The next proposed game must be played.
6. Joining/Auto-boot: (a) If you don't join after 3 days of the game's creation, you forfeit the game. (b) Auto-boot must be 2-3 days -- no more, no less. The champion can decide this for Games 1 and 2. The game's creator can decide this for the other games.
7. Game Title Requirements: "Champion (player name) vs Challenger (player name): Game #"
II. Challenger Requirements
1. When Champion is waiting for a new challenger, Champion must wait until at least five challenges are issued. Then Champion must play the best challenger. Challenges can be issued while championship games are being played (to keep things rolling smoothly).
2. Determining the Best Challenger (in order of priority):
(a) Challengers who have been ranked #1 on the 1v1 ladder have highest priority.
(b) Winner of one of Heyheuhei's 1v1 RRs.
(c) Winner of a Major 1v1 Tournament (at least 128 players). Total number of Major 1v1 Tournament wins determines tie-break.
(d) Top 10 (#2-#10) Best Ever Rank on the 1v1 ladder (not seasonal ladder). Highest Best Ever Rank gets priority.
(e) Top 25 (#11-#25) Best Ever Rank on 1v1 ladder. Highest Best Ever Rank gets priority.
(f) 1v1 Winning %: The challenger with the best 1v1 winning %.
(g) Tie-breaking: Use the above criteria (in order of priority) to determine tie-breakers.
3. Challenger Requirements: 55%+ in 1v1s, 200+ 1v1 games played. If you don't meet these requirements, don't bother issuing a challenge.
III. Forum Requirements
1. Only challenges issued on this thread (or a new thread used by the champion) count.
2. Post games on this thread (or the champion's new thread). Post them one at a time, as soon as the games finish. This will make it a spectator sport.
--------------------------------------------------------------
To get it started, I'll be the first champion (we need to start somewhere!). I'm a decent 1v1 player, so whoever beats me should make for a decent champion. By the time we have our 3rd or 4th champion, that player should be a top 1v1 player, a real champion!
Anyone want to challenge me?
