AIs don't surrender when one human remains: 2014-05-02 13:15:43

I just joined a tournament and in the first game both of my enemies just surrendered. This is when I realized that whoever created the tournament set AIs surrender when one human remains. Cue all the comments about how one should always read the settings first. I just assumed that nobody would be sadistic enough to change that setting.

Anyway, does anyone have any recommendations for how too end this game quickly? This is a 2v2 game on a relatively large map, so it will probably take at least 20 more turns to eliminate them both. For example, if my partner and I both surrender, what will happen?

Hello

If you both surrender then a vote to end happens.

You could finish the game fast if one of you is bigger than both AIs together. Then the big player has to surrender and the other one can just add his income to a random spot and keep pressing commit. That way the AI of the big player will finish off the other AIs.

Take 20 turns. You can probably get it done in 15 minutes if you click with your teammate. Otherwise, treat it as a multi-day.

If everyone gets booted, I believe there is no Vote to End mechanic for tournament games, so the computer will randomly pick one team to win, rather than play it out or take any considerations of income/army like the end of a season.

if both surrenders>>> Random winner (bc it's a tourney, so VTE is not an option)

Just take it like a man and and finish :p
or you cold follow Norman's suggestion

I would assume that's it's like that because AIs not surrendering is actually the default option.
