Feature Request: Changing the Value of Cities: 2020-02-13 16:52:18

I enjoy making commerce games, but one of my major complaints is this. While we do have the ability to change the COST of cities, there is no way to change the value of them.

In some games where bonuses are very high (in the tens or hundreds), having cities worth one can be annoying. Either they are too cheap and are spammed at a ridiculous rate, or they are too expensive and it takes forever to recuperate their value. I can’t imagine it would be to difficult to implement a feature like this, and if it was, I and many other players would probably enjoy it (or at least enjoy having the option).

I'm curious to see what others think of this idea, so feel free to comment on this or Warzone mail me.

The more specific your request is, the more likely it is for it to be implemented as a mod.

{For example instead of stronger, say a player should have max X cities}

Also to be clear, cities can be modded

Yes, but I feel like a slider (like the one to edit the city cost) could be added and available to everyone (not as a mod), which would allow an easy adjustment of the City Value

why would you be playing games where bonuses are in the tens or hundreds? just lower the bonuses lmao

that is a great solution Buffalo

however I still like the idea of cities producing an X amount of gold per turn (default = 1), as a mod first, and as a proper game setting later.

I also like TBest idea for having a city cap on a territory

While it is not important at all, and doesn't mean much, I still agree that it would be nice to be able to toggle the value of cities just as you can toggle their cost.

Em, I was thinking like 5 cities a player. Thus, a player would be forced to stack those cities. (like real life basically).

But sure a cap per terr might be worth as well. Anyway, this is why writing a specific suggestion is smart. I am not sure what the best approach is and don't play as much commerce as others, so my experience is different.

@OP, Sure adding to base game is best. But WZ has one dev, so he can get around to that in... a few years? after all the other things on the roadmap. Wheras I can make a mod in 30 min and Fizzer can see if the mod is worth adding to wz at some point.

As for those saying "Why don't you just adjust the value of bonuses?"
There are 2 problems with that.
1. You can't adjust bonuses until level ... I don't know
2. On larger maps, that can take a very long time to manual adjust values.

I agree with Trevor on this point.

Although, to change the value of bonuses, you only need to be level 45, which you are 50.

I also like the idea of making like only 10(more work less) cities available .
