Since the 1M is overestimated, what is the real value of WZ rn?

Im kinda assuming @Fizzer isnt going to tell us, but if some smart people could do some educated guesses that would be great

I'd calculate it like this:

There are a couple of variables here:
a) Amount that WarZone earns
b) Working hours that you need to invest in order to keep WarZone running.
c) Your expected return
d) Salary which someone with the skill in order to keep WarZone running could achieve with a freelance job.

Now let's make two calculations:
a) 100.000$
b) 0 (WarZone runs itself)
c) 10%
d) 0 (WarZone runs itself)
--> WarZone is worth 1 million dollars

I have no clue how the 100.000$ are stretched and Fizzer most likely won't tell. As for WarZone running itself we know this isn't true, I just wanted to show how not to make the calculation.

Now with a calculation factoring in that the site doesn't run itself:
a) 100.000$
b) Full time job
c) 10%
d) 70$ per hour --> 8 hours per day and let's say 200 days of work per year --> 112.000$

With that calculation WarZone is worth nothing. The meaning of that is that people with the required skills in order to run WarZone won't pay anything for the site since they will earn less running WarZone than when doing their previous job. "Why would I pay 1 million dollars in order to earn 100.000$ per year when I could do so on my own without that initial investment?"

A person with the skills to run warzone probably wouldn't be able to easily find a freelance gig paying 112K, unless they had other skills.

@VERNAL VINAIGRETTE: That was a very conservative assumption. As a basis for my calculation I thought about what you earn as a Java freelancer in Germany. Here the salary usually starts at 70€ per hour. The average is about 80€ per hour (https://www.freelancermap.de/?module=freelancer&func=suchergebnisse&expert_search=0&qall=java&profisuche=0&q_id_plattform=1&id_plattform=1&redirect=1).

From what I have heard in the States the salaries are higher than in Germany however there it depends more on where you live. 70€ translates to 76 dollars.

WarLight includes various technologies I know about (C#, Flash, various frontend technologies, Unity) and probably some more. Apart from Flash those technologies are high in demand. If hired as a pure developer the builder of WarLight should aim for about 100$ per hour (according to German standards). If he finds a company which hires him as an architect the upper end of his salary should be completely open (especially in the States, not so much in Germany).

However those numbers were just to show that the WarLight website site has most likely no value at all if you indeed need a full time developer in order to run it. If WarLight is mature enough that you can run the site with some coding at weekend, then we might be starting to talk business.
