The only explanation I can offer for why Yugoslavia eliminated New Caledonia is that a bunch of players from the Balkans voted for it out of patriotism. It is inferior in every way to New Caledonia, very disappointing.

I also expected New Caledonia to come second, but it looks like both Yugoslavia and PacMap have their fans. Ticket to Ride The World is my pick this week.

I am really dissapointed that New Caledonia became only fourth. The maps of this week are honestly really bad. My vote goes to Yugoslavia simply because it is the least horrible.

The problem is that maps stand on their merit in different categories, so asking which is better, aristic concept or good gameplay is going to lead to controversy

Yeah, Ticket to Ride has better art while Yugoslavia has arguably better gameplay (long, linear strings of provinces are a niche preference, I think, so Ticket to Ride would not be as consistently enjoyable as Yugoslavia). At the end of the day, people will just vote what they like for their own reasons.

I agree that ticket to ride and Yugoslavia are not really bad, but they aren't great either. Ticket to ride looks quite good but I wouldn't want to play on that map.

None of these are sensational and not a whole lot of originality here, but Ticket to Ride has the nicest aesthetic - I like the animals in particular! Plus I like the game. ;)

I am really glad to hear so many people like my map of New Caledonia. I was really hoping it to be one of the contenders for this week but that's unfortunately not the case. It's nice to read these comments.
