One of the owners of the 3 largest online store companies here in Brazil paid an average of $ 15,000.00 to google every month for his www address to appear first when typing online store in google search here in brazil.

So it all depends on how much you pay for google and whether you are interested in paying.

I wouldn't pay a note like that to google.
I would prefer to invest directly in warzone.

Why do people even care about the search results, if you search for "warzone" you probably know what you're looking for and the search results probably won't influence what you click.

Because metrics don't lie. Its like job interviews, the more people hit the site, the more potential a long term player will be found. Certain methods will bring in more or less chaff with the wheat, but high volumes will almost always have large results.


I wonder if Activision made an offer to purchase the domain from Fizzer. If it were me, I would have swapped back assets to Warlight (I like the name even though I never played it as such) and taken their money. If it was enough money, maybe get new assets made for a new name.


My issue with the increase traffic stratigem is not unique as to what others have posted, but was quite exemplary of the issue. I clicked through to a stream twitch linked here on warzone.com and the guy was playing CoD.


Maybe Fizzer could offer to trade Warzone.com for legal rights to the Warcraft name. (':

How about "Risk of War" ?

i still find warzone by googling warlight because if i google warzone it appears at 5th page

I've been tripped up a few times by friends asking if I want to play Warzone. I thought they were referring to this and got very excited.

imo it doesn't hurt warzone in any way, but i agree it can be confusing/annoying

I use DuckduckGo and Warzone is easier to find in here, the problem of Google as someone said before, is that they get paid to show some results before others
Maybe Warzone could just try to advertise itself a little bit more

When I google risk online this website is the third result. Only the app beats this website out.

I would like a trophy for playing warlight pre warzone. (like the beta and alpha trophies)

Well, think of it this way. While it's lower on the warzone results page than it would be on the warlight results page, people are more likely to google warzone than warlight, so they're more likely to stumble over it.
