Apparently the Rematch feature was changed to automatically invite all of the players from the last game.
I agree that this is probably accurate behavior for a "rematch", but the use-case I personally see most of the time is when people want to quickly re-run a game with the same settings without going through templates (and the same players are 'optional'). I think the result is rather annoying for most of the involved people.
- those who don't wanna play again need to go into the lobby to decline
- for those who don't decline or join (just ignore it), the host needs to pick a point in time to remove them - potentially slows down the time to fill, and if those people would actually want to rejoin but were just slow/distracted/whatever, they would have to be explicitly re-invited again (can't just join after being removed by host)
- those who do want to play again need to go into the game and click join to confirm anyway - no net clicks saved
Overall, I think the total amount of clicks + frustration between everyone is increased in this case, compared to just creating the rematch empty and having the interested people join in.
Anybody has some counterpoints to justify the new system, or would you prefer to revert this?
