EDIT(for clarity): From the rules link below: "All players who wish to put themselves up for draft will be accepted, so long as their boot rate is less than 17% and they have been a player for at least 3 months."

I'll keep this short as the link below has a detailed account of rules and such. I'm starting a Fantasy Warlight League. This first season will have only 1 division, with 5 owners. Teams will consist of 8 players, and each "round" will consist of head-to-head competitions against other teams in 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 formats. Owners will use their own templates as "Home" advantage.

I'm looking for people interested in being Owners and Players. We will need 5 owners and 40 players at the least. If you're interested, please sign up either via this thread or via private mail to myself.

If you have questions, concerns, suggestions, etc. please feel free to ask them in this thread as well. I do ask that you read the info in the link below before you do so, however.

@Good Kid I'm trying to not take newer players, as they tend to have a lesser understanding of the game and tend to be more likely to leave. If we cant get 40 players that are more established, then you'll be included.

@TBest ha, I don't think it matters much. I used "Owner" because that's what I'm used to for Fantasy Sports. I could change it if it's confusing.

My understanding of the game far exceeds your own, I have a 1881 rating at the moment on the 1v1 ladder.

TBH, IDGAF what your ladder rating is. I have a good understanding of the game, I just don't have the high-level strategy. There's more to it than being good. The limit of 3-months is set because newer players, regardless of skill, tend to leave. I've been a clan-leader and event organizer for years, I have a lot of experience with people coming and going. Plus, with a 1881 rating when you've been here for a month tells me that you're more than likely an Alt account. If so, please join with your real account. If not, good for you, it's nothing personal, it's just good practice to weed people out based on how long they've been here.

Except of course that this "is" my main account, and the only one I will use at any point in the future once it's high enough level to play on the ladder.

And Eagle, your initial post very clearly stated, "as they tend to have a lesser understanding of the game". You absolutely brought skill into question, and in that regard you're a poor judge, I'd beat you 10 games in a row.

Also, good practice would be you not weeding anyone out, and letting selection by managers/owners do that for you. If they don't want someone on their team because they don't expect they will stick around, they don't pick them. It's much akin to the risk of picking a player who then gets injured and doesn't play in a fantasy sports league.

That is your prerogative. And mine is to disqualify you because of it.

"Lesser Understanding" doesn't mean lesser understanding than my own, it means a lesser understanding than those who have been around longer. It was a general statement, stop trying to make it personal. I have no doubt you'd beat me 100 times in a row, 1v1, and I don't really care. I play because it's fun and I'm more interested in the community aspect than grinding games and analyzing match-ups to be the "best".

There is always that risk, however long the player has been around. There's a reason, however, that you can't draft High School players in a Fantasy Football league, even if they have more skill than, say, Tom Brady. I'll reserve the right to choose for myself what is "Good Practice" for my own event.

@Apollo I know there have been other similar leagues. TBH I haven't heard anything from Managers League in a very long time, so I have no idea if that's even still going on. Either way though, I'm not trying to copy anyone or compete with anyone. I'd be more than happy to have both exist side-by-side, and I don't think there's any down-side to it.

My bad. I should have realized that if you were smart enough to accept criticisms that you'd have improved as a player years ago.

I'll be a player as a part of the Free Agency...... I don't know if an owner will want me but they don't have to draft me do they?

Please note that my boot rate is due to too many games and a failed vacation.

I think the manager league is "out of the game". At least thats what he told me, long time ago (i think)

To be honest i think you should let everyone in. I see your point, but it is really hard to get 45 players to join something like this. So i guess that if you get more than 45 player, you can take away the "newbies" :)
