Multiplayer - hide player identity?: 2014-05-17 12:09:48

Hello everybody,

newbie here, sorry if this questions has been asked before. I just started playing war light with a couple of friends in multiplayer. Is it possible to hide player identities within a game? In a sense that you can't distinguish between Human-Players and Computer(AI)-Players.

Thanks. Have a nice day :)

This anonymous games have been a popular idea and you can vote for it on user voice: http://warlight.uservoice.com/forums/77051-warlight-features/suggestions/1095383-anonymous-games

Also if you're an experienced coder you can create your own ladders and tournaments with these settings as explained by Fizzer here: http://blog.warlight.net/index.php/2012/12/announcing-custom-ladderstournaments-framework-clot/

I don't however believe there's a method to hide the difference between Humans and AI.

Thanks for your answer. Yes anonymous games, thats exactly what i was looking for. If I understand it correctly the idea was posted on September 28, 2010. Thats a long time ago... Chances of getting this feature quickly are pretty low I guess :)

CLOT seems interesting but as far as I understand it (thats not much I admit), it only handles the ladder maintenance. How to create games, how to find opponents etc. But you are not able to change the game itself (as the game seems to be a flash game and CLOT is only a bunch of python files?!).

Anyway, thanks for your quick response. I like this game :)

If you make a new account and hide your stats then you'r playing anonymous, noone will know who you are. If you also use proxy site then not even fizzer can see who you are.

In the blog post I linked Fizzer mentioned the possibility of creating "Anonymous tournaments" with CLOT, but I'm not entirely sure how.

i wonder how may votes does it have to reach in order to make Fizzer implement the things listed in the user voice?

Well, he obviously cannot implement everything, so he picks the ones that are well within his reach.

Maybe anonymity is too difficult to implement, or its very low on priorities.
