I see many multiplayer games involving coins that I cannot join because I do not have any. Is there any way to get them without buying any, and if so how?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

I recommend the coin wheel on the mobile app. You watch an add, spin the wheel and get 1-1000 coins (avg. is prolly 2 coins). Available once a day or so. Should get you started with coin games.

Effort free ways:
If you are playing on mobile, you can spin the coin wheel to get coins as a reward for watching a 30 sec ad. If it doesn't pop up automatically, you can find it in the settings of the app.

On pc, join the global chat, there is a RaffleBot giving away free coins

There are a few scammers in global chat. They will ask you to play a game with them, or offer to play with you when you ask. They will send you an invite to a coin game, do NOT JOIN those unless you wish to lose your coins or know what you're doing!

All coin games have this symbol (https://warzonecdn.com/Images/Warzone/SmallCoins.png) in the game lobby, with a number indicating the total prize for that game. They also have a yellow text on your multiplayer dashboard: "Entree fee: N coins. Prize X coins."

If you find yourself invited to such a game, click the red Decline button.

To prevent the scammers from inviting you to more games, you can block them:
Click their name, click Full Profile. On their profile, click the +Blocklist button.

EDIT: everyone on this forum you shouldn't play coin games with, no matter what they say!!

Nah, those don't exist. What he is likely referring to are the people rigging the raffles so normal people can't win them
