My plan is to interview several of Warzone's top and most well-known strategy players, starting (hopefully) with those who have achieved the distinction of gaining a golden trophy from the Multi-Template Ladder created by Deadman. This trophy requires 10 consecutive games while remaining 1st rank on the ladder and is generally considered one of the toughest achievements in Warzone.

The initiative for this thread is to let the community get to know some of the best strategy players a little bit better, while providing those players a podium on interesting topics.

AI reached a best of 2111 on the MTL.
He has also achieved trophies on the 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, RTL, and Coin Leaderboard.

Here is an interview I had with the latest MTL trophy champion, AI. Post-interview, I am now, more than ever, convinced that it is a computer.

The interview is as follows:


Pardon:
First off, congratulations on 1st place on the mtl. You cemented your placement with your win over Mod and have held 1st for 10+ games and counting.


AI:
Thank you. It was a tough way and the win over Mod was indeed the deciding game on my way. It's also remarkable that the first time I made an attempt for the trophy, I lost it against Mod on the same template, Pangea.


Pardon:
Let's begin with some background questions. Where does the nickname AI come from. Are you really human?


AI:
The story behind my nickname is pretty boring actually. Some time ago in Warlight (yes, thats the name of the game) players that turned into AI's were displayed as AI: was player name. For some reason I thought it would be funny if it were AI: was AI when clearly it's not funny.


Pardon:
I think that's pretty funny.


AI:
Your humour is even worse than mine, in that case.


Pardon:
I also noticed your profile picture changed recently to a cartoon bear. What happened with that, did you lose a bet?


AI:
My previous profile pic was pretty meh, so I watched out for something that would equal the expression that I make when I win a close game. At the same time I want to show the world that I love y'all. I think that cartoon bear symbolizes those things perfectly.


Pardon:
Alright, every time I see your profile on Discord, it says you are listening to spotify. What do you spend all your time listening to?


AI:
That's true. My streaming time on Spotify in the previous year almost was 100k minutes. I listen to music all the time, no matter what I do. Most of the time it's german music, KIZ and AnnenMayKantereit being my current favourite bands. But actually I do have playlists for all kinds of different things, for example I have a playlist I always listen to when I work that mostly contains insturmental music, and so on.

Let's get into the warzone questions now.
So you got 1st and are currently holding it on the multi template ladder. Do you think you are the best player on Warzone now?


AI:
No, not at all. At this very specific moment, I might be one of the very best, which means something like top 5. However, if we look at the whole history of the game, there are many more people who I would say achieved greater results and were better than me.
That being said, I want to improve further and stabilize myself as one of the best players on Warzone. For example via longevity of #1 on MTL


Pardon:
Good stuff. As you probably know, Rufus, the mtl record holder, has rejoined. Do you have any thoughts on that? How do you plan to keep 1st.


AI:
I love it. He has been the dominator of MTL in the past year or two, and I hope I can put up a fight against him in the long run from now on. I love the competition, I think it will make me better and will also make him better, since I feel he hasnt been able to improve his game anymore in the past year. I feel I can still learn things from him, and other top players on MTL as well.
My strategy to keep 1st short-term though is to get myself more into a fighting spirit in games where I have a bad position. I tend to give up on those games too early and start to play desperate moves.


Pardon:
On your path to 1st you played with a lot of competitors. Which player did you have the most trouble with?


AI:
My biggest nemesis in general (not just MTL) are Mod and buns, I never do great against them.


Pardon:
Alternatively, which player was a point farm for you?


AI:
Clearly Summer. For whatever reason I do great against her.


Pardon:
The point of the mtl is to demand that players be strong at a variety of templates. Which template do you think is your weakest?


AI:
This is also an easy answer. I underperform a lot on French Brawl. I blame it on my ability to make predicts, I'm just a horrible predictor.


Pardon:
On the other hand, which template should opponents fear you on?


AI:
They dont wanna play me on Greece LD. Fizzer loves me and I always get superior auto-picks. Also, I have some idea how to play that template...


Pardon:
Interesting. Now that you have a new golden trophy, do you have any other goals? I see that you are also a frontrunner in the current seasonal.


AI:
Yea, it's the one strategic trophy I'm missing currently and I definitely plan on completing the set. I also have some plans ratingwise on the team ladders, but that's just the very future.


Pardon:
Speaking of the team ladders, there are some rumours that you are carried by R=U/I on the 3v3 ladder. What do you say to that.


AI:
It's my favourite teammate, actually. We harmonize perfectly, on an interpersonal level. Problem is, we both always make the same mistakes, so he's not too helpful and doesnt carry me much, actually.


Pardon:
That is sad to hear.

I have a statement to make in my capacity as FiveStarGeneral's manager:

My client, FiveStarGeneral - who I will thereafter refer to as 'FiveStar', as he is colloquially known - has decided to come come clean and confess:

FiveStar does, in fact, have a secret obsession with BTS, and has actually listened to all of their albums. 'Love Yourself' is FiveStar's favourite album, and he does fancy Jungkook a little bit, but, like, in a normal, homoerotic kind of way. FiveStar doesn't know why he lied earlier in this forum, but hopes that by coming clean he'll maintain his good reputation and avoid being the target of a witchhunt at a later date should his lies be then uncovered.
