While searching the open games, I found an interesting profile;

♦CPU♦ Ryan
http://warlight.net/Profile.aspx?p=535662842

Here is the ♦CPU♦ Ryan(2)that we all know
http://warlight.net/Profile.aspx?p=559362993

Could this be a joke or a mischievous case of identity theft?

He created a new account that's supposed to be a member account.

I thought it was possible to transfer membership to a different account... shouldn't you do that?
Or is that not the case?

I think you can gift (as in buy one and then have another person's account given membership) but I don't think transfers are allowed. Fizzer might be able to make it happen, it's worth asking.

This could have hardly been mischievous given that one account was invited to warlight by the other..

It's kind of like giving someone your travelcard for the rest of the day after you're done with it. I can't imagine Fizzer would be too happy about it.

I wouldn't do anything like this, because even if I left, I would like to be able to return at any time.

x,

Whether this is "wrong" depends, in my personal opinion, a lot on whether two people share an account, or if the old owner really sold it and stopped using it himself.

On a semi-related note, in the USA selling second-hand games is rather common from what I understand (a chain called "Gamestop" I think does a lot of it). And recently a European court ruled selling licenses is legal and it's in fact illegal for publishers to prohibit it (if the original owner stops using the program and destroys all his copies, obviously).

While I do agree with your wish to "be able to return at any time" (and I'd have that same wish), so long as Gen. Lundberg doesn't, I see no problem.

Ryan,

Did you change the email address linked to the account, and the password (without telling Gen. Lundberg the new one)? Of course, if you want to know for sure whether this is okay, you can always ask Fizzer; that'd settle the matter.

i did change the email address and password but it was okay with him, we know each other in real life and if he ever wanted to come back i would just change it back

Since it is a lifetime memebership, I don't think this makes a difference.

I didn't know ryan had paid for it, or that Lundberg had given up so quickly. I didn't say there I had a problem with it.
