Well, if anyone wants to disect my game (link above) I'd appreciate it. Not really sure what else I could have done to turn the tides in my favor.
I think it would be good for both of us to improve our games.
And yes, I don't think I've ever seen the same territory blockaded 2x. Only his was much stronger, and I really could have used one in Hawaii about 10 turns later.

Basic expansion mistakes and very bad play early turns, you just should have finished patiently antarctica first, then russia, then you'd hold antarctica. He had a faster expansion early but it came with a price of having problems with finishing 3rd bonus (north africa). Finish antarctica in 2 turns, russia in 3. On 4th turn you get to decide whether to hold antarctica or finish indonesia and enter south america. With 2nd option you'd have the opportunity to set a blockade in antarctica (scott) and enter africa and central america through brasil with temporary 13-12 advantage and possible australia bonus in the futur (or central russia bonus). Anyway, you should have won that easily after playing those first 4 turns as I said.

Thanks for all the help. I think I have gotten a lot better or at least making less and less mistakes, which is the same thing in essence. Will watch the youtube videos when I get back from holiday, mainly because it is banned here. Still having a bit of trouble with the 2v2 and 3v3 games (which it seems most people play with a few maps) but hopefully practice will help me get over that. Have read a guide on EU 3v3 games which has helped me a lot there, problem is that the players who normally play the 3v3s pick the big bonuses.
Ive been looking at other peoples statistics through their profiles and saw a person who have win rates of near 90% even though they played loads of games. Presumably though its very hard to do that especially on the 2v2 and 3v3, do people just pick their games carefully? Though I did see once that a guy changed from my team because I only played about 10 games :S.
See quite a few people here have Ms next to their name which I presume is a membership thing. Im wondering, at what point do people think worth getting a membership? Im not particularly interested in making my own games, but the ladders sound interesting. Are they much better than joining a tournament or playing a random game that pops up in the open game segment?
Lastly, has warlight ever considered putting up some sort of mentoring system?

1) Team games: I'd be happy to help with some 2v2s or 3v3s. also regarding their strategies.
2) Statistics: Beware, there are a lot of "stat-boosters". Some people with 50% are better than people with 90%, though not always of course. Start playing to win a game and have fun while doing so, not for your stats.
- The guy changing teams is a regular and understandable occurrence, - self explainable.
3) Membership: Play for a week or two first. If you really do want to keep going and actually start playing competitively, then get the membership which allows for a few things. Most importantly, you can play the ladders, 1v1 strategic medium earth, the 2v2 ladder same map with a friend, and seasonal ladders, which use a different template each time. Go to community - ladders and browse around a bit.
Secondly, you can make games with less luck which is heavenly. Playing a game with 75% kills strategies you come up with for expanding etc. I noticed you still don't fully understand this point in our game; Yes, the one you freaking won haha - still cannot get over it.
4) As for the mentoring system, there is no official one, though there are quite a few players that like to help; Thus, there are guides such as the one from swezingen or Zoso. Go up and click on Swez's account and link - he is a great mentor and has gotten myself to a whole other level for 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3s.
5) I want a damn rematch! :D
Best,
Ze doggy

yea, I just saw that. The last game I played I didnt look over the settings properly and a guy started on 1000 bonus in a multiattack game. Fortunately he spent so long taking his turn I managed to boot him first turn and win :).
As for more games, more than happy to play, though I probably should have really lost the game against you looking at the history. Do you want to set up a game or should I? WIll go look at Swez's profile and read up too.

Also, from time to time, people make tournaments in which the prize is free membership (yes, it's possible to buy-gift the membership), and most of the time, these tournaments are played on Strategic 1v1 template, so this can be a way of earning a membership too.
