I'm curious how many people use the opponent's speed as a sort of "tell" for what they might be planning.
I find that if you've established a playing rhythm, it's sometimes easy to tell when your opponent might be either attacking with all, defending with all, setting up a blockade, or trying an elaborate counter using many delays.

I've done that once or twice (I don't play rt often) If they take a while, they might be considering a big move :P

Or it might be they watch turns if they take a while, or they don't watch turns if they're fast.

Fast committing can often mean one large attack on the first move.

You would be surprised how many orders I can make quickly. If the game is going according to plan it is like executing a script.

But Min- at any speed, putting in 1 order vs. 10 orders will be a different amount of time.

the problem is the turn refresh which is usually set at 30 seconds if I am not mistaken so unless you are constantly hammering that refresh button you are not likely going to catch the tell. Lets assume you do though. They could move their armies back to lull you into an attack next turn they could full on attack you they could be abandoning blockading or any number of possibilities that only take a few buttons and committing within seconds of a turn. Now I am kind of a shoot by the hips play style so don't take advice from me but I would exert caution. Or maybe they commit real fast to get you to think of a full on attack and as you are planning your orders they quickly modify theirs without you noticing. It just seems really risky to plan your move based on their commit time. Unless you know the person playing and are familiar with their tactics.
