Isn't it rather annoying when you join a game only to find someone has taken your colour? Isn't it annoying having to change your beloved colour to something disgusting like COPPER ROSE!
I feel that members should get colour priority when joining a game! I mean when you pay £19 or $30 for a membership, it is the least you can expect. Once a member joins the game the person who has the same colour as them is asked to change. Simple.
Or maybe a more liberal approach, would be to allow people to have a secondary and Tertiary colour choice. Although screw that. MEMBER PRIORITY!

Just change the colors yourself once you are in the game.

The only situation I find this to be annoying is when the time taken to choose a new colour means the game fills before I can join. Otherwise I relish the opportunity as much as I would any other colour selection in life; car, carpet, paint, pencil case, friends skin etc.
If members got priority then players that had already joined would be required to pick a new colour which would be annoying. There is a hierarchy to colours which I think is: join order > level > age of account. If anyone is willing to pay to jump that queue then I'm all in favour of Fizzer making a couple of bucks of it, but otherwise the least you can expect seems to be limited by your own capacity for expectation.
allow people to have a secondary and Tertiary colour choice
This isn't a bad idea, but has been thought of before. Go look in uservoice or something.
Besides, it's a great starting point for banter e.g. "you stole my colour you dirty so-and-so!"

Chris, it was only ever oldest account for ladder/tournament games. If it was an open game then color was first come, first served just as it is now and just as it should always be.

that may make sense for invitational agmes, but ti wouldnt m,ake any sense for a player who already joined a game to have to change his cilor just because a memebr joined, i mean, he might not be there waiting for the memebr to join and change his color
