One day into the game, I discovered some things that seem unbalanced to me. Maybe I do it wrong, so Im asking for opinions. Just some general thoughts and first impressions:

The later ores are super rare and slow and you only unlock them at a late stage of a level. I feel like it is really too late and slow, because the main use for them is the tech tree, and so late in the game it is not worth anymore to save up such a huge amount for a tech. Maybe it's also that the techs are a bit too expensive? Idk

Which level are you on? I'm only on the second one (as it reset my progress) so I'm not sure what the rare ores are, but so far iron, which is the rarest I got, seems to be worth it; the tech tree seems to be quite worthless on level 2, but maybe I got the maths wrong

I don't know if your thoughts have changed in 2 days Farah, but the tech tree is completely useless on level 2.

The draft tech is definitely not useless. It will give you a lot of troops. Starting on map 3 there is a tech that comes after drafting which gives +15% armies from army camps. That's also very useful. The other techs I've seen are not worth buying.

The draft amount seems to be the highest in the mid game, with my highest draft being 1.6 million when I had half of map 5 Ursa:Luna. But afther that the drafts become less and less, and with only 14 territories with 11 million neutral armies remeaning, the drafts are now only 50-100k.

So I wonder how the draft amount is calculated, does the number of bordering territories influence it?

@Dutch Desire, I think the draft number mostly depends on when you made the last draft, or how many drafts you have done in X hours. You get these low draft numbers when you draft every few minutes.

That doesn't seem the case, because I was only 20 minus away when I drafted 1.6 million, and I drafter 1.3 million a few minutes later...

The number of territories that border neutral territories is the only correlating factor I can detect.

What Derf said definitely is true, but there most likely are more factors.

So you want to delay your draft?

For me it feels like I'm getting more armies the faster I pick up the draft. I get my low drafts when I ignored the draft for a couple hours.

You can open the same game in two tabs - I drafted in one and got 119k then I waited 15 mins and drafted in the other and got 140k. Nothing else changed in the game, so it sure seems like waiting is part of it.

As far as I can tell, you start with a big draft (perhaps around 20/30 minutes worth of armies income?).
Then you get another draft exactly 6 minutes after you've clicked on the draft button. The value is lower,
Then another 6 minutes after the second click, etc...
The values keep going down until you get something like 3 minutes worth of income - then it stays at that number. (If your income slightly goes up, then the value slightly goes up.

I've also noticed that sometimes the process kinda resets, at least partially. And you get another high draft, with the values slowly descending again. I'm not sure what triggers that, but like Derfellios said, it happened to me a few times after I had left the game for a while. So not playing/drafting for a while might increase the value of the following drafts.
(But it could be another factor that I'm not seeing.)

What I have found pretty lackluster are the permanent bonuses so far. I have just completed Hurureys castle and was excited for my first permanent bonus into which I took some thought on which one to get. However, I couldn't afford anything. I was offered the choice in order to pay some coins for more advancement points however even if I had done this I wouldn't have been able to afford anything. That's not cool :(

Norman, they do get better later on. I've completed 5 maps (I think) and have +50% army camp and the 5% less troops thing when attacking a spot where you have multiple connections. That's getting to be a pretty meaningful difference. I'm not sure that all the permanent upgrades are worthy though. 30 AP to increase copper production? Nah!

Btw, the multiple connections thing doesn't quite work right. It does cost you 95% troops, but you can't attack the territory until you have 100% of the amount.

Since arigold16 was able to afford some upgrades I have checked again and the later maps give significantly more advancement points. I thought the mere about 17 AP from Huruey's castle was representative.

The costs also decline after you unlock a given upgrade. The first level of increased army camp costs 30 AP and gives +10%. Second level costs 10 AP for +10%, then each level after that costs 10 AP more than the prior one. For the Joint Strike the first level costs 30-something and second level is 20 AP.

My impression is that Fizzer set this up for longterm. You dont need everything that you have at your disposal for the first few levels, but you already learn how stuff works so that you can use it later on.

Doesn't it say you'll get back 5% of your armies? It doesn't say it'll cost 5% less. So it sounds like it is working correctly.

I am on Map K-PX with 19 Techs available, getting a couple more techs with every level I go up.
Also received over 50 AP, advancement points, in last 2 levels, expecting over 60 AP this level, plus I pay their 30 coins for the extra AP points each turn on top of that.

I feel being able to win more than one game in the Arena would be nice, maybe 1 to 10, depending on the map size.

Yes, the Drafting is time sensitive from what I have seen.

Yes, getting more mineral's, 6 & expecting maybe another on this map. Also 4 crafted items.
