I think its actually best to spread them out as they will be able to cover more land

You should protect your bonus while wrecking havoc on their bonus

On normal kill rates: If 100 armies attack 60 armies, they kill 100*0.6 = 60 armies while they lose 60*0.7 = 42 armies. If you want to kill enemy armies while keeping as many armies as you can, it is better to deploy on the same place. If you want to not lose bonuses, you must defend everything.
In general, I focus on one territory where I deploy almost whole income, while I defend other terriotires of mine with 3 or 5 armies (takes 5/ 8 armies to take, which is the best #defenders/#armies needed to take ratio you can have).

There isn't a definite answer like "deploy all in one place" or "deploy evenly". Each situation has its most appropriate move.

If you think the enemy will attack you to try and break a bonus it is better to put all your armies to defend that bonus and needlessly make them lose all their armies.

Works for me. :D
But i agree, it depends on the situation, but usually putting more or equal to what your opponent is attacking with is a smart move.
