I am in a game where private messaging is disallowed. Still, some players are using mail to have secret agreements anyway, so they do use private messaging. I think this is a violation of the rules. I reported this but the rules are somewhat vague about this. In the rules the only thing I can find is following: https://www.warzone.com/wiki/Rules#The_Rules

"Colluding: Players working together is not against the rules, and you should not report players for doing so. To avoid collusion, play in 1 v 1 games where collusion is impossible, or in team games (since then the collusion is pre-arranged), or just play with friends you trust."

This is very general and not specific enough.

Why is there a possibility of disallowing PVT messaging if you would be allowed to have pvt messaging via mail? I think such behaviour ruins the game. If you set game with the setting No PVT Messaging, the rule shoulb be No PVT Messaging and doing so is a violation of the game rule set by the game creator?

What are your thoughts on this matter?

Of course you are free to make your own personal rules for games. But don't expect Warzone to enforce them for you, since they're your rules. You have to enforce them. I recommend simply not inviting that person to your next game, and over time you'll find a group of people you trust.

Also might as well follow up on this:it's very common for players who are not communicating to notice someone is way stronger and simultaneously switch their focus there. It's pretty much warzone 101 and if you don't like it then you should factor this into your strategy.Most veterans know that you should never dump all your income in someones face since many of them use the analysis tool or try calculate enemies income, meaning if it's clear you have 100 income and the others maybe 50-60 but you have more standing armies as well they will focus on you first.Do note that the players that appear to have 50-60 income may also have more income but deliberately hold back.But as you said, sometimes players may team up and depnding on the settings that may make it hard but as a veteran i can confirm if you're playing well you could win it 2v1 anyway if you change your tactics.

(Also last follow up, the game settings are extremely relevant for example recon or spy cards, diplo cards, or any other card really)

then why make the possibility of disallowing pvt chat in the first place? Well, I am disgusted by this unsportive play and I have resigned almost all my games because of that and I will stick to the more honorable game of chess then. If the site merely sais, well people are allowed to cheat... well, then it takes away the joy of playing this game.

and what's the point of 'making your own rules' if you cannot enforce them? This is a big flaw in this game.

WZ doesnt allow players to cheat, but rules regarding private messaging are just not enforceable. Besides using WZ mail, most of us have Discord and other easy to use ways of communication, which can be used to bypass this rule.

The rule of not communication with others is a mere gentlemans rule, not a rule that WZ can enforce. WZ added the option to disable private messaging, as a tool for game hosts to use, not as a rule that is not allowed to be broken.

And if you find communication between players a big issue, I would recommend you stay away from (team) FFA's.

Collusion aside, FFAs in turn-based strategy games are inherently broken from a strategic perspective. The competitive scene of this site (like the competitive scene in chess) is centered on 1v1s and balanced team games.

I think some players are conditioned to play Warzone as an FFA game due to their experience with Risk, but Imo if you care enough about strategy and winning to insist on fair games, you should be playing 1v1s and not FFAs.

Yeah FFA almost always result in teams or teaming whether verbally decided or not. I personally try to fight everyone near me in the early parts of the game but if one person is clearly winning after several I might try to fight them only. But in the end I find it’s not worth to team up and delay the game IMO.
