Over the past few months, my client Phobos (
https://www.warzone.com/Profile?p=62105717541 ) has shown a steady improvement in his skill as a strategic player, culminating with a 1v1 Ladder trophy he obtained on September 6th. That trophy is a well-deserved reward for a player who has not only strived for excellence but has also given back to the community, by publishing a 1v1 Ladder picking guide on the forums for example.
However, while most of us congratulated Phobos on this achievement, some let their jealousy get the better of them and ridiculed him.
A few hours after the trophy was awarded, Nauzhror (
https://www.warzone.com/Profile?p=6516195490 ) had a public meltdown on Discord, where he claimed that my client gained the trophy because he « tried a lot harder than his opponents », opponents who would « stomp » and « maul » him if they played seriously.
He has since repeatedly insinuated that not only my client’s trophy is worthless but that he’s also personally a better player than my client.
Now, my client and I understand where all this jealousy is coming from. We cannot help but feel sympathetic towards a player who has relentlessly tried to gain the 1v1 ladder trophy on multiple accounts for the past 8 years, only to fail miserably on every run.As a sign of encouragement, my client has already offered to give Nauzhror some ladder tips to help him progress.
Still, we may feel sympathy for Nauzhror but we cannot let him spread his defamatory comments any further.
The honour of my client is one thing, but more importantly, the future of Warzone is at stake!
What about all the new players who will read Nauzhror’s comments? They might believe him to be the better player and follow his lead instead of my client’s. And next thing you know, you’ll have an entire generation of Warzoners stuck in endless ladder runs and going trophyless for years.
As a trophy holder and a leader of the strategic community, my client cannot let this scenario happen.
In order to put an end to this matter, my client Phobos has chosen to challenge Nauzhror so they can to determine once and for all who is the best Warzone player between the two.
He suggests a simple best of eleven : 11 multi-day games on Strat MME and the first player to win six games wins the challenge.I’ve alerted my client that Nauzhror is good at running away and that I worry he might use the format of the challenge as an excuse to decline it. As a result, Phobos has allowed me to negotiate eventual changes on his behalf :
-> we can consider playing less games if Nauzhror doesn’t have enough time.
-> we can consider adding more games or including Multi-Day Ladder templates if Nauzhror feels like 11 games on Strat MME are not enough to be representative of his skill.
-> we can consider RT games if Nauzhror worries he’s going to boot on MD games.
My client is confident that whatever the chosen format he is, he will triumph easily. Now that the gauntlet has been thrown, we are waiting for Nauzhror to pick it.
We are asking him to contact me directly – or through an agent of his choice – so we can discuss the format of the challenge and start the games as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, everyone else is welcome to join this thread and congratulate my client on his trophy, or make their predictions on the upcoming challenge.
If that challenge is somehow ignored or declined, my client would respectfully ask the coward known as Nauzhror to stop acting up in public and to fail his sad biannual ladder runs in silence from now on.Best regards,
Phobos’s official agent, Rakleader.
