Another thing: Ulster should be called Northern Ireland, because they are not the same, and because it fits better with South and Central Ireland.

Also, if it were Ulster, it would go all the way to the west coast, but it doesn't, so Northern Island makes more sense. In the map below, anything in white is the Republic of Ireland and not Ulster, anything in green is the Republic of Ireland and Ulster. Whereas anything is Pink is Northern Island and Ulster.

Why is called Canberra when all the other Australian territories are named after the state?
