Fizzer spent loads of his free time to write thousands of lines of code, for this?

Now you guys are complaining because the ladders are just missing a few templates! Just be thankful the game is here, guys! When I first found WarLight, I was so impressed. I usually get bored of video games after a while, but this game I have played nonstop and still want to join more games and invent new maps.

Now, here's a simple question: ...

Would you rather the ladders missing a few templates, and the game be here, or the game be gone completely? Fizzer can easily just stop running the game. Be glad he's doing it all for us.

you forgot to mention Hellbender, Motocross, Righ, MysteryDouche and last but not least the good old skunk924. They're all very valuable to the community. :)

It's not that were missing templates. The problem is the rating. It allows stalled a to "game the system" in such a way that many would consider it cheating.

Arun - As far, as I would like to see some changes in ladder, I can't agree with you on this one. I would say, that even on the contrary - comparing to other online games Fizzer is actually reading the forum, and replays if that is necessary.
True, he's not active in every thread, but if you think about other games where creators bothers to communicate with players only when they're lacking of income from a game, I would say communication with Fizzer looks really nice. You can even get his skype if you're really desperate :P

I agree with both of you guys - fizzer's feedback is usually faster and better than what most similar products offer, however i'd say he replies to e-mails or any other in-game means of contact way faster than to skype and indeed seems to among various irrelevant stuff ignore also some topics put forward from the most advanced, and long-term members of the society. And whether new people like it or not, it's still the handful of top players whose voice should be more influential to others IN THE TOPICS related to strategic values' and competitiveness' improvements. And it's true the issues with proper ranking were openly discussed among the forums many times, almost from the very beginning of the ladders, yet the first change was done in late 2013 with implementation of TrueSkill algo to the RT ladder. I would be more than glad if it was introduced to the other ladders as well.

I also back them along w/ Alter. Actually there was a very good idea presented by Master HFG. He wanted to make a kind of council of warlight from ALL parts, diplos, ladder, forums, ect. I honestly think it's a good idea, Fizzer even slightly approved of it. I think if he gets an official council or mods to help him run the site then all the problems or most of them could be solved.

I read everything that's posted to UserVoice. However, I don't often reply there since I don't want to influence the voting. If I said something like "This isn't likely to happen" it would dissuade people from voting for it, which would skew the overall totals. I want to know what people really want. There actually have been ideas I wasn't keen on when they were first posted, but after reading the discussion and seeing how many votes it got, I ended up doing it (example: players turning into AIs on boot/surrender).

The only times I'll take action is if I see an item that I know will never happen (often due to legal reasons, like gambling related ideas), or if something is a duplicate.

This is a reason we need moderating tools. We could simply combine these threads.
