I remember liking braveheart when i was a kid, but i rewatched it not so long ago and i just hated it. This movie is a propaganda for religious bullshit. seriously
Some of my favourite movies: In Bruges (i think this one is my favourite all time) ; Gladiator; Old Boy (the original one, i didn't see the hollywood version); The Bourne trilogy (the 4th one is good too); Seven; Fight Club, Shawshank Redemption; Django Unchained; Tombstone (my favourite movie when i was a kid) ; Pirates of the caribbean;Sweeney Todd; O Brother, Where Art Thou?; the artist; if you are into gore/horror/mystic movies, i recommand Antichrist, i never saw a movie so shocking and i get why people would hate it, but i actually liked it a lot. Also i recently watched Confession (Kokuhaku), i wouldn't say it is one of my favourites but it is a good movie

Mystery/action/war fits perfectly with Edge of Tomorrow, a movie I really like. It's a human-alien war with time travel (so you know that nerds will see some flawed logic and get angry), but overall a good story and good action.
