thats exactly what i say but to join some games or private ladders and chamionships people are like naa you r not good enough look at you 1 vs 1 skills ..... but i have improved from 44% going up am gonna stop when i get over 50% so people wont cry over mny stats anymore

@Weisblut We can tell you aren't good without seeing your stats though.
All it takes is watching some of your ladder games.
People rejecting from tournaments and such isn't always due to 1v1%, they can determine how good they think you are in other manners.

People with 70%+ in 1v1 are definitely reliable for the typical open game, people with 45% or less probably indicates low skill level. For numbers within this range, there are too many exceptions for there to be an actual guide.

Most top players have around 60-70 win rate as they mainly play top players but there are exceptions like Timinator (86%)

Don't forget about boot rate if you want reliability. It may not give a completely accurate view of the person, but it's a good place to start of you invite them to a game. Perhaps with a higher than average boot rate, they would be better suited for a multiday.
But, I think 50% or higher is a good idea to play against if not a higher percentage. Anything below that and you might as well be farming (assuming you have actual skill at 1v1)
