i think it would be great to have some sort of Map-makers tournament. where everyone who makes maps or knows hows makes the best map they can and after a certain time period is alotted people can vote which map is the best perhaps the best map made could also be used in the next seasonal ladder game

Agressive, no offence this is a great idea but i think you should post this on uservoice instead. Another problem is the settings. Even if they do agree on a majority on what map to use, there are so many different settings that can be used it will be impossible to agree on one setting.
