Hi, as I was curious to know the history of the best ladders players, now I am curious to know wich were the greatest players of the single generations (5 players for each generation).
I don't know how to categorize properly those "generations", feel free to choose on your own if you want to use a fixed cronological method, or just a game style method or whatever.

It's a pity that the only interesting thread in a while was ignored like that.

I'm pretty new of this game, and I would be either interested in knowing wich are the best overall players when I wasn't here, and also in wich generation we are in.

There were 6 generations according to THE wiki: Deployers, Attackers, Defenders, Carders, and of course two major and most succesful clans: Noprerequisiters and Booters. you should know that! But some of their players didn't show up on the ladder.. so you have to tweak the categorization to apply it to ladder only.

I dont know who was the best in which category, and these were the official categories made 11 years ago by the famous warlight player: Karl Wright. Most of you know him well but he didnt play WL for a while, so his theories might be a bit outdated too.

Hmm, I can think of four generations.
gen 1, ladder had 5 units instead of 4 for your starting picks.
Impaller ruled
gen 2, the switch to 4, there was a bit more competition

gen 3, influx of Kongregate people, the ladder got quite a few additions, during this time,

gen 4, The Kongregate people, and the people they brought in, start getting good, I.E where we are now, with new faces on the ladder every few weeks.

Though I could easily be wrong, I never payed to much attention to the ladder. :P

There was at least a generation or two of players before the ladder and membership even existed. Good peops too.

Fridge fizzer said himself warlight is only 4 years not 11 years so i do not believe your theory by karl wright and also karl wright has only been mentioned by this thread in the forum and i came in generation 3 in dagen's one.

My Gens

Gen 1:Beta Warlight
Warlight's early history till it goes to flash.

Gen 2: Warlight switches from silverlight to flash
Warlight was now using flash no longer silverlight that inspired the game.

Gen 3:Standalone games
Standalone games where made in kongregate and other gaming sites.

Gen 4:Seasonal ladder
First Seasonal ladder is made

Sub Gen :Map explosion
A sub generation where there is an explosion of maps and map makers.

Sub Gen:Pink Day
Warlight forums is attacked by trolls who take control of administrating.

Gen 5:New Server
Warlight switched to a new server and it caused a few problems at first but we got over it.We are in Gen 6.

Or you just go Gen per year.

im the best in my generation because over the period of two years ive had 5 accounts lol, tho this is the best and most permanant and the only one with memebership
